Well, just for you I did a little survey at our golf club where the parking lot is full of high-end cars all the way up to McLarens and Ferraris. I showed a photo of the new Shelby GT500 grill and asked if they could tell me at first glance what car it was. Out of 20 I got 11 Lexus, 8 Audi and 1 Mustang from a member who also said at first he thought it was a Lexus but new it was a Mustang because someone else asked him the same question a week ago. Get over that!!!
It’s quite simple actually. Let me explain:

Think of the typical, average person, 50th percentile for intellect.

Not very bright, yeah?

Out of 20, 10 of those people fall below the average person in intelligence. Holy shit think about that.

Perhaps only one of those Lexus people actually is brighter than the average person.

The Audi people I can see believing what they saw and what they think.

They might be slightly above average intellect. Food for thought next time you’re golfing with buddies.

I normally don't get involved in petty arguments like this, but I have to admit, rich Golfers (ie. Doctors, Lawyers and Liberal talk show hosts) are the last people I would ask anything about cars.

If I need a heart valve, I'll ask a doctor. If I need a living will, I'll ask a lawyer. If I need golfing lessons, I'll ask a pro golfer. If I feel great need to punch someone in the face, I'll ask a liberal talk show host.

If I need anything to do with my car, I'll ask other guys with the same car, or a mechanic.
TRUE STORY.....

About 10 years ago my dentist was driving a BMW750iL and was complaining to me about how badly it drove in the winter. I told her she should look at a front wheel car drive or an SUV for the winter and recommended a few to her. Next time I'm in her chair she tells me she took my advice, but she didn't look at many of the cars I pointed her to (GM products since I was working there at the time). Another friend of hers told her she should look at Nissans, since they were all front wheel drive. So she wound up buying a Nissan. A Nissan 370Z. For a winter car.

That's why she's a dentist.

The funniest thing is Nissan does have a ton of FWD cars or even AWD! Heck, MOST of them are, she could've even gotten a GT-R and wound up with a better winter option :D

You should have told her to get better tires and do the summer tire / winter tire thing.

I think a 370Z would be a great winter car - with the appropriate tires of course.

Perfect story. I deal with dentists on a daily level. Talk about if the shoe fits. All those years of college and degrees and there you go! Pretty funny.

Please get back on topic.

I like what I read and have seen on the internet (and a few magazines) on the GT500. I should order one today since it will be a long time until I can get one (I am still waiting for my Shelby Cobra GT350 for 2 years).

Good luck to you guys that have one ordered. It may not get delivered as quickly as you thought.

I say that that there is nothing wrong with being a member of a Country Club. I don't golf but get good business referrals in the men's grill.

I got 50% of my business income from the social occasions. It's also nice to enjoy the trust and companionship of other successful guys that support you. My business required this trust and support.
This ain't no party, this ain't no disco,
This ain't no fooling around
No time for dancing, or lovey dovey,
I ain't got time for that now.
Yea, many of you may support the communist socialist values of the left: Good luck as you will be bankrupt in a year or less.

I like to disassemble things.
Nobody is attacking "golf club" members. What doesn't sit well here is using them for a sample group to conduct a rational study on a Mustang related appearance question. That's akin to asking a cat for its opinion on national immigration policy.

Well now, the Right has been predicting that since FDR's first term.* Political and economic realities are more nuanced, shall we say, than that. :sunglasses:

*No, I wasn't an eye witness. Not quite.

What are the odds we can fit a 19" wheel on the rear?
I'd bet you could fit an 18" on the rear. The front is where the issue will be

He might be looking to a run a thick sidewall drag tire on the rear, so he'd stick with his OEM-ers on the front.
I figured he was. 20" runners are still a good amount of weight, though. I'd just get some Baer brakes if I were building a drag car
