I just added 2 12" NVX X series subwoofers with NVX vented enclosures and the transformation in sound is incredible. And now I have an extremely small trunk space!

I want to replace the front speakers (base system) and see where some have had to modify the A pillars to get their tweeters to fit. Does anyone know of any tweeters that will fit with no mods? Would prefer raw drivers (from parts express, madisound, etc) but components would be ok. Does anyone know the dimensions or mounting requirements of the stock tweeter?

Take the A-pillar off, it'll take minutes.

Usually what I do is measure the OEM grill diameter, compare to measurements found for the speakers I'm interested in, and see if I can surface mount, drilling out the OEM grill.

Other times I will see if I can get the tweeter behind the OEM gril.

OEM tweeter I assure you does not have the same body as an aftermarket tweeter. Going to be a component bracket sort of thing - at least that's what they are usually.

I'd check the OHM rating of the OEM tweeter and see if just replacing the tweeter with a silk dome improves the sound enough for you. My #1 complaint is harshness.

Its actually pretty easy. The hardest part was getting the A pillar back on right.

I just finished my old school audio install and can say that the tweeters that come with Boston Acoustics Pro60SE snap right into place in the factory perches, I added a dose of hot glue on the backside to make sure they don't wiggle out somehow.

I installed a set of Kicker KTS25 tweets. I removed the factory perch and dremeled a bit of the opening. Removed the factory grill.
They slid right in from the front.
Really brightens the sound and the kicker grill looks cool.

Using the factory wiring and power?

Yes, I managed to carefully remove the factory connector from the old tweeter and soldered it to the pigtails of the new tweeter. Now it's has a nice and neat factory plug.

Thank you. I definitely want some more clarity up front.

So... do you need to know the wiring diagram, polarity, etc.? I have Polk tweeters in hand, just want to know what to expect before I take her apart.

I did the same with Boston Pro’s. They fit without having to cut/trim the panel and definitely upgrade the sound.

Same, my hybrid audio clarus c1 tweeters snapped right in. I highly advise putting a capacitor inline to prevent any damage to the tweeter,,,a kinda insurance policy in case your crossovers aren't set right, etc.

I'm replacing my front speakers with Morel Maximo Ultra 603 3 way setup.
I'm not using the crossovers that came with the kit.
Curious if anyone used the capacitor that is wired to the factory tweeters?
I assume this is to insure only highs get to the tweeter while protecting the them?

I am installing Morel's in active (not using the factory crossover) and plan on wiring in a capacitor. Technically my DSP will protect them, but better to be safe than sorry.

I removed and used the factory tweeter capacitor with the tweeters in the Powerbass L2-6C component set. Seems to work well, as without it was too harsh.
