Tune doesn't control the boost. It should make boost when you floor it at any RPM.So I just had the whipple 3.0 put on the 2020gt. Not familiar with it just yet but it doesn’t make boost until at least 4K rpm. Is this how it’s normally run or is there a tune to have it boost sooner? Thanks guys.
If you don't have the throttle open far enough, the bypass will be open and you won't make any boost. So throttle controls boost? I could expect boost at 2k if I completely open it up then?
This only applies to high load scenarios such as towing or more realistically a high gear. 2nd or 1st gear wot at 2k rpm is fine, itl blow the tire thoughYou only make boost at Wide Open Throttle. Not sure if this is what you are asking. Also you shouldnt be at wide open throttle at 2k rpm which can cause major detonation, but technically yes if you floored it at 2k rpm you should show full boost.
Thats correct. I just have heard people chugging along in 4th gear at 2k and them mash the gas and complain they dont feel much power, meanwhile it sounds like marbles in their engine. This only applies to high load scenarios such as towing or more realistically a high gear. 2nd or 1st gear wot at 2k rpm is fine, itl blow the tire though
This is the Ecoboost killer... the amount of Focus ST/RS guys I've seen blow their engine by doing exactly this....Thats correct. I just have heard people chugging along in 4th gear at 2k and them mash the gas and complain they dont feel much power, meanwhile it sounds like marbles in their engine.
Thats called detonation lol detonation is very badThats correct. I just have heard people chugging along in 4th gear at 2k and them mash the gas and complain they dont feel much power, meanwhile it sounds like marbles in their engine.
