When I did mine I got a Dremel in there and got rid of some of the rust and brake dust. Do you spray the edge of the disks too.

I got a wire brush on the hub section, used some surface cleaner, taped up and then sprayed. I didn't do the outter edge unfortunately, was trying to be quick, was really hot and nose was dripping all over the place :cwl: I'll touch up the caliper carrier tomorrow.

Finally complete, nice to have a working handbrake again that ain't pointing towards the sky and still rolling. it did also need a bit of adjustment underneath.

Now to decide what to do with the calipers that have came off, it will be too much hassle to ship them back to Tasca parts for $100 back.

I would stick them on the shelf as a long term refurbishment project.

If you do a good job, you won’t lose money even if you don’t use them / sell them on at a later date :like:

Thanks for the recommendations. I went ahead and ordered from Tasca parts in the end and added the pads on anyway as I doubt they'd be much different price wise over here and saves me searching.

American parts websites always seem so much better than what we get here, just enter your VIN and it gives you diagrams and breakdowns to make it easy lol

£350 in total.

hi, hows the brakes doing now? I'm guessing these are the same part numbers for the UK GT as well? 330mm disc with both GT and ecoboost sharing same caliper ?

They're still working fine thankfully, still have a solid handbrake and no advisories on the MOT this year.

I think the rear calipers are the same as the GT, the part numbers seem to list both models in the fitment info on Tasca parts.

i didn't want to gum up your thread with my own query, i assume you bought OEM calipers hence the difference in price as i'm just gonna get remanu units. One winter here and they'll all look the same lol

I wouldn't worry about that, it's a related issue lol

But yeah I got the OEM ones, fingers crossed they last longer than the last pair :cwl:

I didn't order from Levittown Ford in the end, I just got what I needed from Tasca, I should have probably got discs too but they turned out to be fine.
