Here’s mine from @GT101, 5+ years and c25k miles on, about 200miles after a clean:

(from post https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/painted-brake-calipers-uk.135909/post-2843302 above)

Regularly ceramic coated and topped up.

Not noticed anything amiss :)

Cheers

Benno

Thanks so much Benno.

It's a long way for me... circa 8 hours round trip. Do you think the quality of work justifies this travel and the fact they are 2x the price I could get them done locally? I don'd mind paying for quality work.

I’m pretty sure that GT101 do the removal/refitting but the actual painting is done by the paintshop they use.

Mine was with them for a few days as they were doing other things whilst the calipers were away.

I would think that there has to be a closer-to-home solution for you - that’s a hefty round trip to make especially if it’s a day or more to get the calipers painted.

For me, the £££ cost is worth it but for that sort of time cost, I’d be looking to get more done at the same time to justify that amount of time.

You could ring them and see if they do an exchange service so then they could get a spare set painted up ready for just a simple swap over when u get there - I know they’ve recently installed a full Ford Performance kit on one so it’s possible they have the old calipers “on the shelf”

Cheers

Thanks Benno. Yeah if they outsource the paint work to someone else then I'd rather just find someone locally I think. Was going to combine with them overhauling the brakes a bit as have an annoying knock plus I also need some paintwork on a panel... but again the last bit of this wouldn't be done by them anyway by the sounds of it.

I think I'm a ~5 hour round trip, but I left the car with them and did my return journey by train.

As for how they are holding up, I have zero complaints, I also had my standard GT wheels resprayed by GT101 and the difference vs how they came out of the factory is very noticeable, much more robust. Calipers always really pop when they're cleaned up and I can't say I've noticed any chips in the paint, that said I haven't had the wheels off myself to have a proper inspection.

I'd wholeheartedly recommend GT101 for any work you're considering, the quality of work and attention to detail is what you'd expect for the premium. If you're getting top quality work (which IMO is pretty much guaranteed at GT101), a couple hundred difference in cost is a no brainer. As Benno said, GT101 don't do the painting, but you can be confident whoever it is they use will be top quality too.

Many thanks for the reply :) I will give it some careful thought. I'd love to take a drive down there and say hello and get a feel for them in person but its a long way... that said I will probably need to to get a quote on the bodywork repair anyway!!
