New Navigation map update June 29th

Just completed the "update" on my 2019 Bullitt. Had version 1.7 before and still do. My sync is 3.3 19052, just as before. The install went flawlessly, but I don't think I gained anything.

I wonder if the 3.3 bug is still active preventing the map version number from changing. The only way to tell is to check the files in bezel diagnostics.

I’m sure it’s the same feeling I used to get doing Windows updates. Between Ford’s screwups and user download and install errors the odds of getting it right the first time is nil.

yeah and windows 10 hasn't reduced the risk much either lol.

edit: just checked and map update showing for the car. 16GB, downloading now. Let the games begin

I have my USB locked and loaded. Guess what? I'm putting off the install for awhile. I want to see someone with 3.3 who is showing 1.19. Until then I'm in no rush.

For anyone looking for USB drives, Costco has 3 pack of 64GB drives on sale for $20. I'm quickly running out of drives, since I don't really re-use them for these updates.

I'm downloading now, what I hope to be the latest build for Sync 3.3.

Thanks for the heads up. I did an eight level erase on my Mac. Took eight hours. Next time I'm just buying a new drive.

After I put the file from the downloads into the right folder as per the instructions hiding, my update proceeded fine and restarted the Sync 3 and the maps stated ver 1.17 still, so I think its still bugged.

I upgraded the Sync 3.3 to the latest build and that went smoothly. I may or may attempt to update the maps using the USB I downloaded. I will see how bored I get later. The Ford USB with maps is supposed to arrive on Monday.

I think I may ask for my $40 back that I paid for the Ford USB if there are no changes.....they should at least let us know if it should show a different map version or not. Whoever the third party has QC'ing this, is doing a poor job.

For those who have used nav extensively, curious if they noticed any changes with the latest supposed update. We either got duped, putting the same 1.18 maps we had before. Or Ford screwed the pooch not programming '1.19' into the files. So let's find out first if there were any changes .

Update: couldnt stand to wait & went and tried ford USB stick, same err05.

Hey, how come you have Wi-Fi on a 2019? You're not from the US, right? Not even 2019 Bullitts have it here; only 2020s have it. I never used it on my truck after it expired, but my wife really liked it while the subscription lasted. She was disappointed my Bullitt didn't have it.

My car can also get updated via Wi-Fi (which I always have turned off), but what I meant is if you have Wi-Fi Hot-spot, which requires an internal modem. In other words, can you connect a Wi-Fi iPad to your car? Just out of curiosity if there was a way to get that on 2019 cars. I know for a fact 2020s have it. Thank you.

My 19 has a wifi modem and hotspot that is supplied free for 90 days by ATT, I believe. Could be late 19 builds, mine was 8/19.
