Hello - new here. No I'm not a fan of the gloss grey that's been popular the last few years. Black does it for me. This GT isn't a daily driver, so keeping it clean isn't a big set back.

Colors come and colors go. Everyone has their preferences, and a lot depends on the contours of the vehicle. Other than Mustangs, it's almost impossible for me to tell one car from another these days without seeing the brand logo on the front end. I miss the days of my youth when one could instantly know the year, make and model with just a quick glance.

Not a fan of matte finish vehicles, I like shiny objects. Preferably metallics.

As far as color, I pick boring silver almost every time when it comes to a daily driver in Minnesota. Hides dirt and crud better than anything else, even in winter. Fun cars get color.

I really wanted Ruby Red when I ordered my '15, but picked Magnetic for stealth factor and ease of touchup. I got my red fix on the inside.
I ordered my 15 in Ruby Red. Outstanding color why Ford discontinued it is any one's guess.

The new Magenta color seems to look similar in certain lights based on the pictures I’ve seen. Other pictures you can see a fair amount of pink in it. I kinda like it from what I’ve seen so far

Car trends tend to follow cultural design trends. Architecture is generally at the front, then residential interior design, and then cars. The muted colors with grey bases has been the rage in interior paints for a while. I like them, most of them. A have wondered why it took car MFGs so darn long to figure it out. Basically, they are neutral colors since most people prefer that. Just like people don’t go for brightly colored houses. Source: multiple designers in the family and decades of observation.

same in my household.

It also stems from when one manufacture SELLS a ton of a color. (Nardo grey, burnt orange phase a few decades ago) and everybody wants their piece of the pie. Every year their seems to be a "it" color and If it does well everyone joins till the next one pops up. Capitalism unfortunately plays a role as well.

I think the super bright colors draw attention to the color and the “muted” ones show off the body lines more. I will admit I like Grabber Blue, but I like it on your car, not mine.

What do you guys think about the new Muted car colors that are showing up everywhere?
Myself I own a 2024 GT Premium in Iconic Silver. As far as I am concerned they just are plain ugly. Most look like High School Gym or Hall Lockers and then there is the Tool Box gray, and workbench Gray. Give me a break. The Rapid red was my 2020 I traded for the 2024.

Growing up in the 70’s and 80’s if you had your car sprayed in primer or a paint that looked like primer, it was unfinished. The same for black wheels. If you had ratty wheels or ones that didn’t match you painted them black to hide it. I have always liked the look of a beautiful paint job and shiny wheels. If you’re going to put all the time money and effort into building a nice car you might as well have it look good. I guess my time in the Navy steered me away from the flat gray colors. We used to paint just about everything flat gray.
