Hello everyone! I just recently purchased a 2017 GT350 with 19000 miles. I read alot of different post talking about the motors going out and needing to be replaced. Mine is not a daily nor do i track it but reading all the issues with the engines is making me nervous about owning one. I love everything about the car except for all the engine problems i'm hearing about. Should i be worried about my purchase?

Answers will be all over the place, but it seems like if your engine has made it this far, youā€™re most likely good (as are most of the pre 2019 engines). If youā€™re still eligible to add an extended warranty through ford, that may be a worthwhile investment.

Enjoy your new mood enhancing device!

Do you happen to know any tricks for keeping the break dust away?

Donā€™t use the brakes with stock brake pads.

Hey kevin, a lot of people run z26 power stop pads for reduced dust. If you are interested I have a full set (front and rear) of which I literally used the fronts for just 10 miles.

I bought them when I got the car, put them on after the stockers were worn, went on a short test drive to make sure it was working well, and came home and looked it up and realized they would be terrible for the track day I had in two weeks.

Congrats...just get an extended warranty through ford. Assuming you still have one on it it won't be very expensive at all...think I paid 2100ish for 4yr on my 2017 last year. If it's out of warranty you can still get one, but it will be much more expensive.

Odds are your fine though with 20k on her already.

power stop z26 pads work great on street and once broken in a bit (few hundred miles after bedding), the initial bite improves a good amount.

Ignore the naysayers. Most of them just regurgitate the nonsense they read on the internet and are haters. I was so worried about it I put a whipple on mine with 1500 miles. If you need the piece of mind buy the extended warranty like others suggested. Really is inexpensive. Beautiful car, enjoy it.

Z26 pads are a perfect investment for street driving. I swapped mine because of the brake dust alone. Now I can go almost a week without noticing too much. Way better and not too expensive actually
