New GT or used GT PP1

Currently have a 2014 V6. I’m looking to upgrade to an 18-20 next year. From what I’ve read, the majority say the PP1 is worth it. The caveat for me is that I would have to change the tires, so the performance tires don’t mean much to me. New would be great, but new with PP1 is not in my budget. Should I choose used PP1 over new? It will be auto if that matters to your opinion

You do not know what is possible until you (research) and find those units in inventory dealer wise. If you are a terrible negotiator and or researcher you will pay too much for both new or used... Lol.

I’ve been looking at multiple websites and a few dealers near me, so I know what’s possible. Ideally, no more than $33K. But if used PP1 isn’t better than a new base (which is going to be closer to $35K), then I feel like new would be better. I’ve never purchased a car brand new myself though

I have PP1. Look, if you're not going to track it, and are buying it to have fun as an every day driver, get a new base.

OR, find a new left over 2020 PP1 next month. I got my '19 PP1 base in January of this year for 35K, of course it's a 6sp so the A10 would have cost a little more, but it is what it is. I'm a little biased because I like new.

A 2019 PP1 for $35k?! Wow. That’s a steal.
I love the Brembo’s on my PP1. Of course the suspension and tires are changed anyways from the previous owner, so I can’t comment on the ride height difference or tire difference.
But it depends on your uses.
I like speed and stopping quickly ; worth every penny.

You sound like non-pp1 car would work for you since your budget 33k is limited especially if your going new. But, realize you will never duplicate all the pp1 parts aftermarket. For some brakes, wheels/tires, sway bars are enough though.

I'd get the new, but you have to do you. I paid 35 for my new base GT a month ago. It has the A10 and 3.55's

I paid under 35k for brand new base 18 Gt a10 pp1 back in June 18. Same car 18-20. Had 3 dealers within 1.5 hours with exact same unit...

I went with a new base GT mainly for the price I got it for, but also for the modding aspect. I've already got boxes of parts to bring it up to the PP level and beyond.. Still need to get wheels and tires. And a radiator.

IMO if you want an out of the box experience grab the used PP1 car. If you want a fun car to start with and make a project out of it, buy new then upgrade.

Mine was $35k OTD two months ago. Have around $3k in suspension and chassis parts waiting for warmer weather. The only thing I wish I had over the base is the gauges. But meh.

This was my first new car. I'm very happy with the decision. Peace of mind knowing there were only 6.5mi put on it by someone that's not me.

FYI keep an eye on eBay for stock PP1/2 parts. I missed out earlier but you can get the 6 piston Brembo's for about $600. I want to grab some sweet sweet red ones off a Bullitt, but those are more like $1000.

Just depends on what you're priorities are and how you want to enjoy the car. Handling was a priority to me, so getting a PP1 was a must. In fact I plan on doing a lot of suspension work to make it handle even better. I found a used 2018 A10 for 30k back in Feb of 2019 and jumped on that deal. You might also look for a lightly used Premium if you decide the PP1 isn't a priority because the 18+ Premiums have some nice features. Good luck.

pp1 with just Ford Performance track shocks is pretty capable car btw.

You have to consider warranty and mileage when buying used. I'm all for buying new when given the chance. I've only bought 2 used cars; the rest have been new. After factoring in extended warranty costs and mileage on the car, it was usually very close to being able to buy new.
