New gen 3 engine low oil pressure

Having this same issue, put in a new motor with hellion twin turbos and low oil pressure comes up. Then it shoots to 40-60 as well..

Did you ever find the issue? Could it be the relocation of the oil pressure sensor with the turbo kit?

My hellion system worked great for 50k miles before I started having issues with the new engine so I'm sure it's not the sensor location. I even tapped a mechanical gauge in and it was reading the same. Did you put a oem gen 3 engine in your car or was it a built motor?

If you put a new oem engine like me I'm wondering if ford has a manufacturing issue? The car gets oil pressure but not enough for the gen 3 so I'm wondering if it's bypass related. I swapped sensors and bypass valves and no change. I'm going to swap the housing were the oil cooler and sensors mount next. There is a spring mechanism inside of it where the bypass goes. I'm wondering if there is an issue there but I can't find any information on how it functions. Plus with that housing out I'll he able to borescope the passages much easier. If that's not it I'll have to tear it down to dig deeper.

I always use the fl500s so I can rule that out. I usually run 40 weight oil with the turbos but tried 20 and 30 to see if anything changed buy symptoms are the same.

Wow… really hope you get this sorted. These worst thing a gearhead can see: low oil pressure.

Yeah I just need to make time to dive in. It's been 110°+ plus out here for months so it's hard to get out in the garage plus everytime I start to work on it one of my other pos cars break! Hoping to have my truck and honda done this weekend so I can get back on the gt next week.

No, mines not a oem block, its a built one.

I wonder if the pressure bypass solenoid is sticky and didn't close the bypass fast enough as your RPM went up. I'm assuming it only did it once?

There is one pressure sensor and one pressure switch. The pressure switch should activate the low pressure warning light. You can show good pressure through the pressure sensor and a bad pressure switch can activate the low pressure warning light.

Is there any way to test the stock gen 3 oil pump gears? I finally got my car back in the garage and should have it torn down this weekend. So far I haven't noticed any blockages so unless i find a bad seal some where once the timing cover is off I'm guessing it's got to be the gears.

Stock. It's a brand new oem long block from ford. I have alldata but there's no testing procedures. Less that 100 miles on the engine.

Yes. Hellion sleeper kit. Ran it for 50k miles with no issues. Put a new long block in and started getting oil warning light. Everything is ran the same way it was on the previous engine.

Most companies recommend 5w50 when boosted I think which obviously would increase pressure
