Yes!!!! I want and R with A/C but without radio (I live in Texas where not having A/C is suicide). If this is true I may cancel my '16 R Electronics Package for a "base" R.
If you do please PM as soon as possible where I can pick yours up!!!!!

Does esource have anything on the '17 Raptor? PM me if if this is threadjacking sensitive.
It's still in "Preview" mode so no more info than what you can already find for the most part.

I'm not sure I get the difference between the '16 GT350R and the '17 GT350R other than color options.

No A/C or Nav on the R Electronics Package?
So far the options on the R are a little vague, just that section under electronics, but it still seams you would be able to get a base R.

edit: Looking at Fords verbiage and what R 350 gt Donson said, it would seem that the base R is now optioned like a Tech Pack with base radio, a/c, and the gauges.

Not vague at all. Electronics adds everything you see PLUS the R-specific items (which are removed from the base model).

Why they won't drop an option for an amazing stereo setup with quality speakers eludes me. The person that will drop money on a car like this does not want to spend another 3k on speakers and crap, along with the time and effort of an install. The system in my car is wonderful except for the lame speakers. I don't want to pull the entire car apart to put new ones in. My 1967 Mustang with Jensen triaxisials and an 8~track sounded better.
Because it's a "driver's car"...not a musical theater.

Thought I'd ask SVT if late model year 16's might be able to add coolers to Tech pack since they're putting them on 17's. They said no plans to make that available. Darn but not a deal killer.

Wow. This is great news for those who wanted the best of both worlds. I can see how some people with 2016's might be a little PO'd by the news...especially those who were stuck between which package to order for the non-R GT350...

Either way, I'm interested (and completely scared, Haha) to see what kind of base price this car will roll out with. Up here in Canada, our base GT350, which is obviously not going to be offered after 2016, was already $64,849 + Taxes. The GT350TP was $72,949 + Taxes. If that's what the new base price is...

...ouch.

My 0.02...

Interesting post. Not surprised base model is deleted. Stats on this site show that model is less than 10% of orders. That may not be enough just to have a low "optical" starting price for this car. Additionally, with posts of base models overheating on track, the changes make sense.

Looks like my base R will not carry over to MY17. (Awesome :headbang: ) I waffled on the Tech pack, but wanted the lightest weight version, so ordered the base 920A.

Interesting that no one has commented on the absence of any news on the 5.2. Didn't the union contract show an update of the engine? It is beginning to look like (by adding up all the Internet speculation) that MY17 may be the end of the 350 cuz the new 500 comes in MY18. If that is true, then MY17 must be the one to get the engine update (whatever that means, could be reliability or other mods which do not up the power...which we all want).

Seems like Ford is missing a huge marketing opportunity by keeping the public in the dark and having to piece together what they are doing.

It's all good sir, I figured we were all talking about base price increase of the GT350 itself. It's pretty obvious the 1LE will be cheaper no doubt, just don't think saving a little money could help all that ugly. lol
HAHAHAHA :)

Man I was thinking about calling to, but you already did it for me. My 16' is still not built yet and wish it was a yes to do this.

Because the only speaker that matters is under your hood...

I just spoke with my guy at FORD and he said, for the same/similar opt car it will be no more than $3,500 more for NON R (because it come standard with more) and about $1,500 for the R....but that is just what he heard 2 weeks ago, they still have not finalized it to his knowledge...He also said he believed one of the blues is exclusive for the R, and that Ruby Red may not be for the R...sad.....we will see in a few weeks I guess..
