Hello! I am picking up a new (old stock, I guess) GT350 today, thats a 2017 model. It sat in the dealership as a display in a smaller town dealership (>200 miles), and they now have a 2019 thats taking its place, so this one is up for sale. I am supposed to go get it today, but thought I would ask if there is anything I should look for when I do? Potential problem areas, etc.?

Anyway, I almost bought a corvette, but I've always been a huge Ford fan, my first car was a 65 Mustang, and once I saw this one was for sale, I had to go get it! They are prepping it for pick up now. Thanks in advance for any and all advice!

I would consider having all the fluids changed.
Check and see how old the tires are and have they been sitting same position the entire time are they ok?
Battery as well.

Thanks. I did ask them to change the fluids and the battery. They said they would. I will check the tires before pickup, good idea.

One further question: There is a 2019 I can get for a similar price (5K ish higher). Are there any major reasons to get the 2019 over the 2017?

Well the 2019's have the updated Voodoo engine, nicer interior and better wheel/tire package. I guess it's your call as to whether you think the updates are worth $5k. Personally, I'd get the 2019.

Not if you have to ask the question :captain:.

MY 19 was a refresh. Search this forum for more..

Congrats on the ‘17 though, it’s a terrific car:like:.

Thanks Tank.

I see the 2019 had a suspension update, and a rear spoiler update, but its generally the same car. The 17 is dark red with white stripes, the 19 is lighter blue with white stripes. Both color appeal to me similarly. I am a bit worried about getting a car thats set on the lot for 2.5 years, which is really the only reason I am looking at the 19 (literally just called the dealership a few mins ago to ensure I could get approved for it), unless the more knowledgeable here knows a good reason to get the 19 over the 17. Does anyone happen to know of such a reason? Thanks again!

Thanks ihc95 (not sure how to do quotes on here, but I'll figure it out).

Whats the scoop on the voodoo updates? Does this help with the oil consuption issue? I just checked the wheels on both cars on the ads, and they look the same though I know the tires themselves might be different...design appears the same I guess is what I'm saying.

Personally for 5K more it is a no brainer to get the 19. As was mentioned, the 2nd generation voodoo along with the re calibration to the braking and magneride systems are definitely beneficial. Also some other quality of life things like B&O sound system, new style wheels, and the Cup 2 tires could make the 19 more attractive to some.
With that car sitting for 2.5 years, I would think you should be able to get it for much more than just 5K off the price of a 19.

Was the '17 kept in the showroom for the last 2.5 years?
If not, the paint may need a lot of correction.
I would still go for the '19 if it is only 5K difference.

How is it only 5k more, the 19 is either under sticker or your paying close to sticker for a 17?

The 17 has the cloth recaros (felt nice on the test drive, hear they are harder on longer drives). 17 has "special package AACAA" (no clue what that is) and electronics package. 19 has the leather trimmed sport seats and tech package. Both have equip group 900A (assume this is standard). I do like that the 19 has blind spot monitoring and cross traffic alerts.

I was told it sat in the showroom for 2.5 years, but I dont know that for a fact.

If the 19 is performance blue that is enough for me
It is indeed performance blue, with ebony interior. Surely that color combo adds +25 hp?? :)

The 17 is $58100, the 19 is $61500...so overpaying for the 17 I guess.
