I put ECS's on the rears months back because the OEM firestones SUCK, and they have been great. Was planning to replace the front OEM's in Feb and move the new tires to the back, and slightly used to the front. Now it appears ill be putting ECS2 on the rear. Glad to see the rim protector, my ECS's dont have them.

Interesting comment, we discussed that earlier. My ECS's absolutely have rim protectors (305/325 30's), and the advertisement/description for the 02's says they do not. I'm anxious to get my sizes in and see what it actually looks like. I'm a fan of no protector, so I hope it looks like that.

Makes me wonder if only certain sizes get them, like wider tires? I like the concept, but the tire does look better without.

I have the 20" package, 265/35/20.

Wanted to revise this thread. Obviously it’s only the end of January but anyone in the warmer climates have any feedback on these. I’m strongly considering these come spring. $400 savings over the PS4s is pretty enticing.

I noticed they were cheaper also....shhhhh the price may go up once the mistake is caught. The original comes on the Roush cars and haven't really heard any complaints about them.....as long as the the Michelin PS4S is not in the same thread. :) :)
So it seems its going to cost about $250 to replace the two pieces. You can't see it with the top on and for how big those bolts are they dont seem to be doing much. You think it would be ok right now with just the one bolt and doing something to patch the hole?
I have 10500 on my 19 Roush. Still have great tread left and traction. No doubt I will get 23 driving season out of them. One caveat is I am not big on smoking tire launches. Rare occasion when I start out. WOT pulls at speed, oh yeah.

I run the OG’s on mine and IMO they’re every bit as good as the PS4S. Assuming Conti improved on the OG, the 02’s should be that much better.

Read a new review recently, ECS’s had slightly better wet braking than the O2’s but dry braking and performance overall the O2’s were an improvement. Still aren’t available in 315’s yet so I’ll have to go with 325’s

Yeah I don’t get why some of these manufacturers dont offer some of these popular sizes. 305/35r19 is another size that almost nobody makes except Nitto and the G2’s suck in wet. If it helps you at all, BMW and Mercedes use Continental for all their cars at their respective performance driving schools.

Saw the original article with BMW when they were announced and all the hype. Comparable with PS4’s I’m fine with, saving $400 on a comparable tire would be my only reason not to go with PS4’s

I was between the PS4S and ECS when I bought mine last fall. I drove my brother in law’s C8 on PS4S and my 2016 had ECS and I didn’t feel enough of a difference in the tires to warrant the price of the PS4S when I could use that savings towards other stuff for the car. Cant go wrong with either one in my book

Also, a fan of the 305/35r19, fills the wheel well.

It’s a great size to throw on a 19x11 wheel. Blows my mind that at least in the high performance summer tire there’s very few choices and none from Conti or Michelin (except the PSS which I think are now discontinued).

Mich makes the Pilot Super Sport in 305/35/19 and to be frank in the dry I found them better than the 4S as far as feel is concerned. The issue is when the PSS gets worn they give up the ghost sooner than the 4S and aren't as good in the wet.

I run the MIch PSS 4S in 285/35/19 front and MIch PSS 305/35/19 rear. I wish the Contis came in the 305/35/19. I loved my Conti Sportcontact extreme

This was enough of a savings to make me go with the Continentals this time. They are arriving today.
