I had the tires installed by Discount Tire today. Here are my inital thoughts:

Total width of tire is narrower than the Michelin and Nitto in the same size. I attached pics to illustrate. I compared it to my Nitto rii with neither mounted, they are both 305/35r20, the pic gives the illusion the Nitto is taller but it isn't. This is typical of Conti tires appearing narrower because of the rounded shoulders. I put on a 285/35r20 to replace the 275/35r20 that were on the car. The fronts sit almost the same in the front fender well, but being very slightly taller.

Initial grip is well above the tires I removed. There is a caveat to that though. I didn't realize my rear tires had gotten down to a tread dept of only 4mm. But they do grip much better than the Micky Thompson did when they were new. The temp was 60 degrees yesterday and I didn't do a hard launch, especially on brand new tires.

You can definitely feel the road more on the fronts. Again I did go from 275 to 285 but I instantly notice these grab every seam in the road. I was driving my normal route home and these tires let me know when I drifted from into the lane next to me by quickly pulling to that side. If I didn't touch the line, they were great with great feedback. I always drive in Sport+ and the steering feels slightly tighter witih these. That isn't a bad thing, as it is communicating what the tires are doing. It is supposed to rain all week, so I most likely won't get to drive them until another week or so.

Still arenā€™t available in 315ā€™s yet so Iā€™ll have to go with 325ā€™s

I would not stress that nor hesitate to make that choice. The way the Conti sizes run, that 325 is no where near as big as everyone else's 325. It's one of the bigger (no pun intended) reasons I like this tire.

I agree 100% based on the ones I just bought. I could have probably jumped from 305 to 325 in a 20" and it would have fit width-wise. I was worried about the slight height increase and stayed with the 305.

What tire width and offset are you running, if you bought a 325 would they have poked or is it sitting flush with the fender.

I am running 20x11 in the rear with a +55 offset with 305/35r20 tires. I am pretty sure a 325 would not have poked based on how far the Conti 305 is sitting within the fender. On the front I went to a 285/35 with the Conti to replace a 275/35 Mickys I had before and the fronts stick out no further than the 275/35 did before. Both my Mickys and current Nitto 555 rii and g2 fronts run wider than the Conti.

How are the Conti's treating you???? I hear mixed reviews about them and this is coming from individuals who live in California where the weather is great the most of the time....

I have been trying to compare them to the PS4S I had on the Vette. I am thinking the dry grip is pretty similar. I haven't driven them in the wet. I haven't gotten on it hard from the dig but I have done some high rpm shifts and like most tires attempting to handle 675 whp, they will attempt to spin during that aggressive shift to 2nd and 3rd but they catch pretty fast. The thing I notice the most is wow, they tramline big time compared to almost any other tire I've had. I initially thought it was because I went from a 275 to a 285 on the front but in reality, the width is not really any wider compared to Michelins, Mickeys, Michelins, and Nittos in a 275 size. I have to admit that I always drive in Sport+ or Track.

What are the guys in California saying about them?

@m3incorp ā€¦youā€™re saying the new Conti ā€œgaveā€ you tramlining? When I got mine back the in the day, they completely eliminated tramlining I had on the factory PSSā€™s.

Yes, I notice tram lining on roads that I regularly drive, that have slightly uneven pavement.
