I can’t top it, but got a nail in one of mine with about 5k miles and the tire shop wouldn’t patch it because it was too close to the sidewall so they said I would have to buy a new one (more likely a pair). Screw that, went to pep boys and bought a plug kit and drove on them till they were bald. You all are not gonna believe that my car has 700 miles and is 2 weeks old and got a nail. That is some kind of luck.
I'm guessing plugs and tracking still doesn't work. :(
Anyone on here that can top that?
Wow that sounds truly terrible. What is piston slap?Just a nail in the tire?1500 miles and needed a new engine due to excessive piston slap (factory defect). Ford is buying back my car. It has been in the shop since 4/17/18. I bought the car on 3/28/18.
Not a topping story but I think you'll be fine. You all are not gonna believe that my car has 700 miles and is 2 weeks old and got a nail. That is some kind of luck.

Piston motion isn't quite as simple as purely straight up and straight down in the cylinder.Wow that sounds truly terrible. What is piston slap?
hmmm, the track i'm going to is not a high speed trackNot a topping story but I think you'll be fine.
Same thing happened to me with one of my MPSS's. I was careful with it my first track day out and it was just fine. My last track day I killed everything in my path with those same tires.

I must have picked up the nail this morning around 7am. When i left work at 4pm the PSI had dropped like 5 PSI. Basically a slow leak.
Whats the best way to fix this? plug?
I just read that last night. Thanks!https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=77
FYI if you have a Discount Tire store near you they fix "fixable" flats at no charge even if you didn't buy the tires from them.
sounds like it.When I was buying my car, they upsold me on the tire/wheel/dent coverage from Safeguard. I mulled it over and went for it. It's paid for it self x2 now with just tire claims alone. I think it was like $750-1000 for 84 months with $0 deductible and repair or replacement of tire/wheel as well as paint-less dent repair on body. I've already used the tire portion three times in just under three years.
