NEW 2015 OWNER!

One week ago, I picked up a 2015 Mustang GT 401A, NAV, SHAKER PRO, MT82, RECARO, it is absolutely wonderful, traded a 2014 GT Premium 6R80 - which I only had for seven months, for this car, and it is fantastic, 1,000x the car...quick question, has anyone deleted the sound tube on a 2015 GT yet? I deleted my sound tube using a cap from Lowes and a grommet from CARQUEST on my 2014, but this appears to be a different setup on the 2015...I have not yet tried yet.

This thing is nice!! I really like it...

Congrats on the car. Nope nobody has bothered trying to remove the sound tube. Have never seen a thread or post about it...

I have not yet removed the tube on the new 2015 - I removed it on my 2014 - I have searched and searched, this and other forums, as well as general internet searches, and, of course, tons of information on the 2011-2014 cars, but so far, I cannot find anything on the new 2015 Mustang as far as removing the sound tube while keeping an otherwise stock intake.

I did a write up on my sound tube removal experience but don't have time to link it. there are several threads on this topic. Long story short it's simple to do and you can get the plug parts you need from Lowes or home Depot.

Word of caution. If you have a stock exhaust you will notice a cabin sound level drop. If you have a good cat back or axle back at least, you will not notice a sound drop.

What does removing the sound tube do for me? On an ecoboost. It seems necessary just don't know what it does

Good luck! I never got my tube off the firewall - damn nut. I just cut it close and taped it off with electrical tape. Some guys/gals just use brute force and yank it off so they can access the nut.
