I talked to one of the engineers today at the press briefing about this engine and he told me that while they don't have numbers yet (it's tuning for worldwide consumption, mixing emissions, mileage, drivability, and performance requirements until they get the right mix... and the car doesn't go on sale until fall 2014 anyway) the torque curve will be very typical of all EcoBoost engines - a very broad and flat curve, from very low in the RPM range on up. That's why this isn't the base engine, it has everything over the 3.7 V-6 - more HP, and torque the V-6 can never match.
Dirk, I also had a MazdaSpeed6, and from what I've heard this one will far outpace that one - good as it was.
