One reason why Ford won't badge the Ecboost 2.3 in the Mustang as an ST model could be in what lies ahead.

Car and Driver has reported that the Taurus SHO's 3.5 liter twin turbo V6 will debut in the Mustang in 2017, except tuned for 400 (to 425 ?) horsepower as a middle engine choice. At that point, FoMoCo will probably drop the 3.7 liter V6, and the Ecoboost 2.3 would become the Mustang's base engine.

As base Mustangs have traditionally never had model name designations, this makes sense to me.

So, what's age got to do with it? You and I are the same age so I can say things like this. Also, today is my 70th birthday and I have no reason to quite looking at high performance.:clap2:

Indeed. Parnelli Jones turned 80 last August, and Richard Petty celebrated his 76th birthday in July. We're as young as we allow outselves to be.

I don't trust Car and Driver for anything. If a TTV6 ends up in the Mustang, it will probably be a variant of the nano-V6 they've been working on. Think 2.7-3.0L with more power than the current motor (3.5). 2.3EB 315hp, 3.0EB 360-380hp (with better mpg than the 3.5), 5.0 450+ would be a nice lineup The only way I see a 3.5 ecoboost in the Mustang is as a Special Edition
