No one asked about how they drive. Can you tell them apart from factory wheels?
Well I haven't been on the track yet... actually just took them for the first drive a minute ago. Turn-in does feel more aggressive to me. Changing direction has a little bit more immediacy than I remember with the factory wheels. At least that's my impression so far.

And you are comparing them to CF wheels or regular wheels?

Thanks for posting. Reminded me that "mag wheels" used to be the thing, but they seem to have faded away. Never thought about it or wondered why, so I just looked it up. Seems the old mag wheels would corrode easily, which paved the way for alluminum. However, they may be making a comeback. Assume there must have been a fix for the corrosion problem. If so, there will probably be lot of affordable, light-weight options ahead.

Thier falling out of common use might also have something to do with them costing $6300.

They aren't cheap wheels - but none of the good options are very cheap, really. At least we aren't having the Facebook argument about how he should have bought FR500 reps for $599 a set.

Aren't the regular non-R wheels more like 32lbs? So you basically knocked nearly 60lbs of weight off your car!

I actually didn't have stock wheels on there. I've had the LMR R-style wheels on there for a few years. I believe they were around 25-28lbs if I recall.

Still a big savings. Shaving 10+ lbs of unsprung weight at each corner is nothing to sneeze at!

I've had two sets of BBS Forged Magnesium wheels for an old e46 M3. They don't bend; they crack. I found one guy in the US who could repair them. Mine were extremely light as well. I believe 16 lbs for the front 9.5 x 18s and 16.8 for the rear 10.5 x 18s. I had one set repainted by a company here in PA that refinishes wheels. The finish held up.
Only the rears cracked. I used to run 295/30-18 tires and I suspect the thin sidewall was a contributor. The fronts appeared to be indestructible with a 265/35-18 tire. Car weighed 3300 lbs.
