I need some help figuring how to move forward with my car. I have a 2017 with AirRaid CAI, MBRP X pipe with MBRP Street system. I have the FRPP track pack springs and sway bars with Steeda adjustable shocks and struts and shock mounts. I am at the point of no warranty anymore as I hit three years next month. Car has about 13,000 miles. I am not really looking for a 10 second car but a very spirited weekend cruiser. Budget is around 6K. Do I bite the bullet and go FI? Do I got FBO? I have thought of going E85 and headers but is the money spent worth the feel? I have looked at FI but is the money spent overkill for what I am looking for? Any suggestions are welcome. TIA!

I have been looking at the Whipple Gen4 stage 1. A few vendors have them for around 7K. I see myself using more low end than high end.

It gives you more torque down low too.

It's really a question of how much you want to spend and what returns you're looking for. FI will use up all of your budget but give huge power gains. The E85 route will still give nice gains but since you have a 2017 you have to upgrade your injectors and fuel pump as well to do it, plus suffer with the worse gas mileage.

I'd personally go with a supercharger kit that's intercooled and just use one of the more reasonable pulley settings to end up with around 600-650WHP. The Whipple kit is extremely nice and comes with almost everything you need. You can stay on pump gas this way. As nice as E85 is I hate how quickly you go through it and out where I live you have to order it by the drum since nobody has it.

In KY we have E85 and gas up to 94. There is a Key Gas close to me that sell race fuel for $5.99 a gallon. I am too much of a cheap a$$ and keep running the FI scenario in head and justify but know in the end that’s probably the route to go.

Well the nice thing about FI is that It's buy once cry once. You can keep turning it up to a point if you get bored of the power level.

Do we ever get to the point where it’s enough? Human nature says no way.

Go FI if you have enough backup cash in case it blows. You'll also need a few supporting mods...opg and cs. Possibly axles.

E85 and lth is what you should do if you just want a spirited weekend cruiser.

Do a digital dash upgrade.

Billet oil pump gears and a billet crank sprocket. Oil pump gears if you do turbo. You'll need the crank sprocket and oil pump gears if you supercharge. Both are weak points when going FI

The sky is the limit with these cars, it all depends on what kind of power you want to make. If you want to keep it around 500hp stay N/A with full bolt ons. If you would like to reach around 700hp go with boost. Shoot me a message if you have any questions or give us a call at 1.877.253.8425 @LethalPerformance

A good budget move for more low end grunt is a re-gear. Add some 4.09s along with 18+ manifold, LU47 injectors, E85 and long tubes. It'll have plenty of power and the steeper gears will absolutely pull harder throughout the rpm range. FI is great if you want a FAST car, but if you are just looking for some more grunt from the car, the gears are your best bet. FI is a rabbit hole you may or may not want to go down. Based on the original post, a taller gear and a couple extra HP would suit you well. The gears will have greater torque multiplication, the E85, long tubes and tune will give you more HP and a much more visceral sound and feel. All lending itself to a more engaged weekend cruiser.
