Looking for opinions on fast n/a guys and what tuners they like. Some info on your setup, times, and experience with tuner would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Currently with Lund but subscription support ran out and I am changing manis soon so will need a retune.

Every new tune Lund sends is 1.5+ seconds slower 60-130 and they don't know why, I am currently running an old tune.
I will make a separate post about Lunds "same tune" that is slower than the original with datalogs...

Car setup:
2015 GT, 6r80, 3.15 diff, stock converter, gen3 shortblock, gen2 heads, stage 3 n/a comp cams, ~12.1:1 CR, ported 18 mani, catless headers, jlt 120, stock tb, 47lb inj, dw400, e85, 305/35R19 MPSS front, 305/35R19 Nt555R2 rear, sve wheels, bmr drag springs, bmr polly rear cradle and diff bushings
Car times:
9.2-9.4 60-130 (Last winter before blown motor)
9.9-10.0 60-130 (New motor same setup as last, same tune)
11-11.5+ 60-130 (All new tunes Lund sends)

Thinking about Tricky Performance or Juggernaut Performance. Honestly just need a tuner who gives a shit to dig into my problems, I am willing to test and abuse the piss out of the car, just need a tuner whos willing to work with me. Every time I message the Lund team I get the feeling that I am a nobody and their tunes are so well-tested I shouldn't have any problems and should stop complaining.

And yes car needs a converter, some better tires, more weight reduction, and a better mani. I am working on fixing one of those problems haha.
Thank you!

(Also been thinking about learning how to tune the car myself, I am very DIY and nerdy, just worried about blowing up another 10k+ motor haha)

Any opinions on doing custom dyno tunes? I think there are a few shops in AZ that are known.

This post rules out PBD for me lmao

He probably should have put in his original post, that he has already burned the Wengerd bridge.

Well that sucks, that's what I was about to suggest. Not by experience, but that's where I want to head next.

I'm tuned by Juggernaut & would not recommend them to anyone. As soon as spring comes around the corner I plan on going a different direction. I used to be tuned by Lund on a different car, never had an issue. Only reason I tried JPT this time around was due to a recommendation from a good vendor, & to save a couple of hundred $'s. But in hindsight & after not being able to enjoy my car most of this year, I regret it. I'm sure they have a few happy customers, but for an auto car, I'd stay far away. 10r80 specialist lol.

You cant go wrong with @Wengerd Performance Best customer service out there.
He does have way better response times and answers than Lund but I had issues with him detailed in many other posts that I will not pollute this thread with

So what are they telling you, that if you put the same spec engine back in the tune isn't the problem?

The trans is all over the place. Still not %100. Flared up all over shifts, would hang on to gears & made my 3-4 & 5-6 gears do some seriously hard downshifting at 1st, then upshifts. Kept getting told to do Kam resets. Would fix the issue for a few miles then issues came back. Kam reset again, rinse & repeat. I was honestly starting to think my clutch pack was fried or another mechanical issue. Hard clunks into 3rd made me stop driving it. Finally after enough nagging them they took off adaptive learning & ran ok again for a day or 2. Then once again clunks. In my mind I was screwed & was dreading having to go to my shit of a local dealer. A few more data logs & started to become drivable. If it wasn't for another member on here I would of done so. He told me about having the same issues with his 10r80 car that were automatically fixed by going to a different tuner. Still flares up from time to time so I only putt around town an normal speeds. All my afr gouges read from 12-14 afr. I was lead to believe I might have an exhaust leak by a different member on here. I've looked the car up & down from header to tails & I could not find a single sign of a leak. I'm on E85 (70) & afr still reads from 12-14 on every gauge I can find on the SCT. They have very good customer service, & will get back to you with in reasonable times, so there's that. Car would also run strong for the few miles that the trans would act right. Ive pulled a very small handful of WOT runs when logging, not again since then due to thinking my trans was suffering. But honestly for what I paid, I should of gone in a whole different direction. +$700 down the drain.

I can concur with this statement to a “T”. Then once I switched tuners my car runs great with zero issues.

Well as far as I can tell the old engine had ring sealing issues leading to oil burning I didn’t notice and eventually oil starving from low oil.

I did the exact same setup for the new engine build and wanted them to check to make sure the car was still running fine. Also noticed the car was slower but it was the middle of the summer so not sure how much the heat was impacting.

Anyway Lund sent a new tune, it was slower than the old (which after a bunch of testing and datalogs last night I think is just because shift points and rpm limited were lowered). They then sent another tune which was suppose to be just a re-export of my old tune to see if it was some weird issue and the car runs 1.5+ seconds slower 60-130 with that.

You sure it’s Lund causing your 1.5 second increase in 60-130 time ?

Have you dyno’ed to validate HP, any chance you hurt the motor somewhere in between old tune and new tunes or high CHT events ?

Yep I’m sure, back to back dragy runs. To be fair one of the new tunes is only a few tenths off (could be because the rpm limiter was lowered). But yes one of the new tunes they gave me is over 1.5+ seconds slower and it’s suppose to be just a re-exported version of an old tune.

I do think it makes sense the difference between my old 9.2-9.4 times and the current 9.9-10.1 times are due to something with my car changing.

Only things I can think are I switched to radials and my diff gears seem to be hurt (lots of clunking). Will have to try and diagnose what might be wrong. I am running the same tune that went low 9s. Haven’t dug into it a bunch as I’m not sure I want to find the answer haha.

I haven’t looked at the datalogs to see why the new Lund tune is so slow compared to the others. If you want I can send them to you.

It might be SCT. When I flash a tune with my SCT device my trans acts up. I can flash the same exact tune with HP or PCMtec and the trans acts perfectly.

Mine is the 5th vehicle I have had this trans problem with using a SCT flashing device.
