what would it take to get this car up to 500 whp? from the looks of it, LT headers (no cats), CAI, Catback and tune people are squeezing about 460-470 whp. thats remarkable. has anybody hit the 500 HP yet? im contemplating doing headers and tune and am aiming for 450. i ask this question to satisfy curiosity and i do not know much about tuning or building up engines.

no one is making that much power on intake and exhaust. 450-430whp is the average.

Fixed :thumbsup: this is the range i've seen around here. Although perhaps some have dyno'd lower. Especially now that it's summer, i'm sure most will dyno lower. 420whp or so seems to be as simple as CAI and tune.

Im talking SAE numbers not STD. No one has gone above 450 on SAE

Yep, I would have ro agree with this from what ive seen. This is whp, so around 510-520 at the crank. Puts it in voodoo engine territory. Now wirh upgraded cams and ported heads, maybe 500 whp. Havent heard of anyone doing that yet.

I've seen this question about 500rwhp asked like a dozen times now. Answer hasn't changed though, you can't right now.

Full exhaust, tune and CAI will get you to about 440-450. There are no other N/A parts right out now to add significant power. You could do an E85 tune, but that's not practical to most as a daily driver as you cant get E85 gas everywhere. I still doubt that alone would push you to 500 either though.

Right now there are no cams or heads out for the new Coyote to put in which is why no one has hit 500rwhp N/A unless you rebuild the whole engine like Livernois did (which is almost as expensive as a whole other engine too) The intake manifolds out right now aren't showing huge gains either as the stock is fairly good and tweaked from the older Coyote to be more like the Boss was.

Ported heads, CobraJet intake, Competition Cams latest grinds, long tube headers, larger valves have gotten a few to the 600+hp mark. Using the 5.2 bore makes things easier.

That's the older Coyote, if you click 2015-present to the left menu there are none listed. They redesigned the cams in 2015 to be more like the Boss cams.

I'm pretty sure one of the shops here in a thread tested the CJ (or Boss same thing really) and it wasn't good for much hp on the 2015 since they already redesigned the intake manifold for the 2015 vs older Coyote where the CJ/Boss helped more.

At least some hint in the 2nd thread that the intake cams on the 2015 stock are the same as the CJ. Per the 3rd link, saw slight hp loses on the CJ/Boss below 5000RPM. It's more for racing and makes power above 6,000 RPM where you stay high in the power band than a daily driver.

Plus it wont fit under the 2015 hood.

The only shop to test the intake was American muscle and that was the boss. Rev auto has a cj on a 15 customers car now, I'm waiting for feedback. It has not been done yet.

Understood but they have similar characteristics so there's nothing to suggest the CJ would act much different. The OEM manifold has the intake ports of the CJ and exhaust ports of the Boss; a mix of the 2.

Again if you can get it to fit with the hood closed. And let's not forget manifolds produce hp in high RPMs. Sure it looks pretty n a dyno graph but if you dont rev above 6,000RPM you're losing USABLE hp really according to the tests done I linked to by AM.
