Any word on any aftermarket intake manifolds yet?

I'm going to show some screen shots of a different engine of what the VCT tables look like when you go from a long runner (low-midrange power) manifold to a short running (midrange-top end power) manifold on this engine. The VE of the engine is completely different and requires completely different cam timing. Now, consider this, the short runner manifold lost some low end torque compared to the other, even when tuned, however, top end really benefits.

Just want to show an example of how different things can be.

The one on the left is with the short runner, right is long runner.

I agree. Tuning to maximize the boss would have given much better results. But BAMA did lose mph and et with the boss when it wasn't on the spray.

To be honest, if going forced induction the 2011-2014 coyote manifold is more than sufficient. The pressurization will not yield in an air flow loss.
I agree, boost makes things easy.

At some point, for those of us like myself going with a JT-B. Sure the stock heads and manifold can support 1000rwhp, but some of us prefer it to be more efficient then being just alright. There has to be gains made at some point with a larger manifold that makes it worth the price. What point that is, im not sure yet. :)
Once you've built an engine capable of handling big boost I would agree a more focused intake manifold would help. Beefcake went through this with his 8-second 2011.

What got me most excited about the Boss and Cj manifold on the 2015 is the similarities to the Boss engine that the 2015 coyote has now. Identical valve lift and duration and valve size. The heads also flow better than the 2014 but maybe not as good as the Boss CNC ported heads, however, the 2015 engine should really shine with a Boss manifold and a good tune. At least the components seem to add up to point in this direction. Except the part where it really doesn't fit.
This is not 100% correct. The Boss had 12mm lift with 260 duration intake, 13mm lift 263 duration exhaust. The 2015 Coyote has 13mm lift both intake and exhaust but unknown duration.

I'm still a firm believer that if he would have taken the time to tune the VCT, the boss manifold would have made way more power and lost way less torque. You can't swap manifolds, run the same VCT, and expect a significant amount of positive results.
I agree but there hasn't been enough testing to confirm. The video above was blocked here at work.

What that shows is the Boss manifold extends the useful powerband by quite a lot. The average power shows where the Boss gains the most. Yes peak didn't gain very much, but side by side on a racetrack the car that can better make use of it's gear ratios will win the race.

This is where I got the Boss camshaft specs I was referring too. I was unable to find any information on the 2015 GT duration, but valve lift is the same.

And that I find unfortunate. I will hopefully be doing some investigation on this within the next month or so.

Yup those cams being sold are from the racing program but the stock specs are in the descriptions. The '12-13 Boss shared the intake camshaft with the stock Coyote which was 12mm lift and 260 degrees duration. The exhaust cams may in fact have the same specs but so far I haven't seen duration listed anywhere for the factory 2015 Coyote, only the 13mm lift.

The 2015 intake cams have more lift than 12-13 boss, not sure on duration about either though.

Still, Id love to have a specific 15 kit of boss or CJ intake that just incorporates the charge motion plates. Youll have no loss down low and still have all the gain up top. It would have to come with new ones that are port matched, but It still makes sense to me that we will see a 15+ intake mani in the works

The GT350 also has the charge motion control plates on its intake which just adds to my curiosity about getting that setup to work on the 5.0

So we have a Cobra Jet intake cam and a Boss Exhaust cam. Interesting...

Further proves my point of a need for a Boss or Cobra Jet style manifold on the 2015 to maximize the improvements made on the 2015 engine.
