I havent found any E85 around me that tested over 70% even once. Station by me is always 62-68%. The Mach is very happy with that! The problem with E85 around my area is not winter cold, but crap gas. Testing winter E85 at the pump really drops off around here, like under 70.
I find that speedway and Casey’s are pretty good around me. I tested both and got 85%. It may not matter, but I looked at both 2 minutes of waiting and 5, got the same number.I havent found any E85 around me that tested over 70% even once. Station by me is always 62-68%. I have an ethanol sensor and a user adjustable PCMtec tune. I have used Caseys and a Philips 66. As long as its over 60% im happy. I input the exact % each time I fill up.I find that speedway and Casey’s are pretty good around me. I tested both and got 85%. What’s wrong with e70? In the winter you don’t need as much knock suppression but the higher gasoline content helps with cold starting. Most of the knock suppression is all-in well below e70 anyway.
Because my tuner told me not to run that low, and that's important and good enough for me. My tune was dialed in on 90, so I don't know if that's a contributing reason or not, but....I havent found any E85 around me that tested over 70% even once. Station by me is always 62-68%. Sounds like your tuner set up an E85R type tune. They can set one up softer for E60/70 being ok. I have an E85 tune as well. But would only run that if I ordered barrels of the good stuff. These issues are why I went PCMtec. I have a valet, 91, 93, and E85slot. I run the 93 slot tune and input the E% and the car has been happy. All that said I may run some 91E0 for the winter after I put my all seasons on. I have been on E65ish constantly for about 18 months.Because my tuner told me not to run that low, and that's important and good enough for me. My one and only local pump consistently tests ~75 throughout the summer months.
