I installed this same switch for my active exhaust. Could be that? Turn on the car and listen for any sound changes.

Could be a kill switch, but that’s too much in plain sight.

Could be another horn? Train horn? Turn on the car and press it.

Maybe underglow or some other lighting.

When you press the switch, does it latch or come back out when you release it?
Stick a fork in it, maybe the sunroof, hotline to Santas workshop, onboard rear drop NUKE for tailgaters?

Track down the previous owner's address and press the button...viola! Instant access to his garage!!

Note: this could be considered illegal in most states (not sure about California as it seems, all normal rules are being thrown out the window).

Where does one buy this accessory? Asking for a friend, of course.
I think Beefcake has them 15% off this week... UNADVERTISED SPECIAL...

I'm sure in four pages, this has come up. But if not... It's likely a dealer-installed alarm system. A lot of dealers install aftermarket alarm systems and then mark up the price. They install it ahead of time, hoping that you'll just pay for it.

Like so when the thief breaks into the car or opens the door to hop in - the thief can turn off the alarm by pressing the mystery button...

🙃

Just like at work... we have an antitheft system. You have to push the break and push a button to put it in gear. The system they use has a "cleverly" disguised button, it's about the size of an OBD2 port and says "Diagnostic Port" on it. It's so obviously a button to push, though. SMH.

Oh, and if you try to pull the cap off the "diagnostic port," you lift the button up, which disables it altogether. It's a great system. I don't see what could go wrong at all.

Time travel...he'll be back, lol
Well I didn't go anywhere in time but I was able to locate the wire that leads to the engine bay. It appears to run on the side of the car on the driver side ofc and down the fender to the front bumper??? I cant really tell where it leads to after it goes down to the fender since theres a bunch of other components in the way. I tried sticking my hand inside the fender liner and nothing. My bumper arrives in 3 or 4 days so I'll continue my investigation when I get the "stock" one off.

Woo Whoo. Don’t give up…we all gotta know.:cwl:

Although based on the routing of that wire I’m guessing no smoke screen or oil slick.

Starting to look like the radar detector or fog light guesses are leading contenders.
