anything could be turned on and off with a button. We d like to see under the hood what s at the other end and where it is. Is it just dead wires into the bumper?

I'll also guess the previous owner had it for a light setup of some sort. Grill, or under car neons or something? And he was kind enough to take them out for you because they're gaf.... Lol

maybe First Responder lights. ??? we could guess all day. See where they go and look for any holes or mounting points in the grill/ bumper etc....

That's funny. My mustang is murdered out and the other day I was picking up my kid from school and one of the moms of another kid says to me "my kid thinks your car is the Batmobile...". I thought "well that's kind of cool...."

I’d definitely troubleshoot and track it down. What you don’t want is something happening in the future, and it can’t be figured out, that could be attributed to this switch and wiring.

I looked under the hood couldn't find the wires from the dash. I will mention, that I'm 98% sure that the previous owner did a half ass job at putting the stock parts back and keeping the aftermarket parts. At this point I'm assuming it could've been some sort of light mod, or subwoofer. I am getting my bumper replaced to a gt500 one. When that arrives in a few days we'll look even deeper to see what is found.

Sorry brother, when you stated that it seem like Jerry rigged wiring it just sent chills down my spine. Have an 04 GTO that Im almost done restoring and followed electrical gremlins for months from an idiot previous owner who did crap like this. Just looking out for ya.

Looks like the part is HR3Z-63046A76-AA and not too much to replace, around $30. Once you get it ironed out.

Here's my "guesses" as to what the mystery button could be for:

- Fog light override; fog lights can be used independently without needing the headlights. Factory fogs won't come on unless the headlights are on.

- DRL override; kills the DRL LED bars in headlights.

- Electric fan override; allows the user to turn on/off the electric fans on command.

- Harry Potter Invisibility Cloak. When button is depressed your vehicle becomes totally invisible to other drivers on the road.

- Spy Hunter Smoke screen/oil slick activation. Only works at above 70ph as you're dodging traffic and enemies.

The Purpose for Each Mach 5 Button

As I pointed out the more obvious Speed Racerfacts, let’s take a look at what each button in the Mach 5 car means:

Button A:
Auto Jack (オートジャッキ Ōto Jakki, Auto Jack): 4 jacks that boosted the car when it needed to be repaired. However, the auto jacks were mostly used to jump the car short distances to avoid toppling over a waterfall, or it was used as a braking system.

Button B:
Belt Tires (ベルトタイヤ Beruto Taiya, Belt Tire): special gripped tires that provided traction over icy, firm, ocean floor or mountainside terrain.

Button C:
Cutter Blades (カッター Kattā, Cutter): very powerful rotary saws from the front of the car that removed obstacles in its way that included trees.

Button E:
Evening or Illuminating Eye or Special Illumination (イブニングアイ Ibuningu Ai, Evening Eye): controls for illumination that traveled through high speeds giving the headlights an opportunity to view objects at far distances.

Button F:
Frogger Mode (フロッガー Furoggā, Frogger): used when the car was under water. The cockpit supplied oxygen and the periscope was raised to scan the surface while traveling under water.

Button G:
Go Homing Robot (ギズモ号 Gizumo-gō, Gizmo): released a robot bird from the front area of the car. This bird can fly and take pictures, tape recordings, handwritten messages, rope, X-ray film and Egyptian statues. It was used as a last resort as a means of defense.

Button H:
Homing Device (ホーミング Hōmingu, Homing): located on a console that was between the seats rather than on the steering wheel. Now, how cool is that?
