Quite. Interestingly (to me anyway) the S550 convertible was the first Mustang convertible designed as a convertible, rather than an adaptation of the coupe. This makes it torsionally the stiffest Mustang convertible ever. The addition of more bracing improves this further. Of course it's not as stiff as the coupe, but it also doesn't suffer any of the historical disadvantages of a coupe derived convertible. The spring rates are identical to the PP springs on the UK coupes. Not much I reckon. I haven’t noticed any scuttle shake at all. The convertible is a very rigid car. It’s loads of fun with the roof up and even more with the roof down on a sunny day. What’s not to like?
I think some people are scared to order a new GT without Magneride fearing the handling will be rubbish without it. I have owned several cars with Magneride (I still do), but I ordered my new MY18 without it because I know how little use it is in real world driving and the stock suspension is actually very good. I don't doubt those that have ordered it will be on here to extol its virtues to justify the £1,600 they spent on it, but before ordering Magneride I think it is a good idea to drive a car without it and see if you think it is really worth an extra 1600 quid.Interesting debate. Having just ordered an MY19, I too looked into magneride and decided it was not worth the money for me. 99% of the time the standard setup works just fine in the real world where you’re not screeching round every corner with balls out. If I’d have wanted a track car, I’d have bought something else entirely
A BMW with an oil burnerNot quite the same thing....but my wife's got a BMW 530d on order

Trust me, I hate diesel as much as the next man (or woman)...but the harsh reality is that if you want a fast 5-series the 530d is better than the 540i. The petrol engine is rough, sounds harsh and the power delivery is weird...whereas the diesel is refined, sounds better (really!) and of course is way more economical.A BMW with an oil burner![]()
The positive reviews are by people who ordered it. They are hardly going to tell you they wasted 1600 quid. I've never driven a 2015-2017 GT. I have owned and driven several cars with Magneride (my E63s AMG has it) and I find it of very little use for real world driving. I reckon the standard MY18 GT suspension is very good. I would recommend test driving a car without Magneride before stumping up the ÂŁ1,600 when ordering your new car.If I was getting an '18 refresh then I probably would get the Magneride, despite being previously sceptical, as the reviews seem to be positive about it .
That's reviews from driving jounalists not Mustang owners. Im not getting a new car??The positive reviews are by people who ordered it. They are hardly going to tell you they wasted 1600 quid.
