Am I the only one who thinks this? It's almost mediocre. I personally think the base GT ford system sounds better.
Anything I can do to improve the system?

You can buy aftermarket components. There are better pieces available out there. I like Crutchfield.

I don't feel it sucks. However it's not worth paying extra as an upgrade.

I don't have the shaker pro, just standard shaker. I'm a bass/clarity person, and i just don't see how this could be called premium audio. Like I said earlier, the standard ford speakers sound better in my opinion....
Is there an amp for the standard shaker?

You have deeper pockets than me. I don't mind the system much (I have the Shaker Pro) and that's coming from a car audio competitor I don't think its revolutionary as far as product or execution but it gives a decent output and decent quality sound once you get the eq dialed in. Also, the "All passengers" Vs "Driver" setting changes the time alignment and output levels which drastically changes the imaging and staging of the sound. Play with the EQ on both settings to really figure out what works best for you.

Sorry, didn't mean to toss the video in there. Was supposed to just be a hyperlink.

My Mazda Tribute sounds better than the base gt stereo. I know insould be steamed if I paid extra for bad sound quality.

I'd like to hear it in person... I should've tested it at the Motor Trend car show last month (would've if I known this). My factory 7 speaker premium with a sub in my 14 Accord Coupe hits HARD! So I would love to see a comparison.

It sure does. I replaced everything except the head unit in the first 1200 miles; I now have Focal component speakers and JL Audio sub all powered by a Kenwood amp. It was an expensive decision, but I spend 10+/- hours a week in my car so it was well worth it to me.

I'd rather hear the sound of the motor to be honest with you.

I swapped out my speakers as well. The head unit doesn't have great equalization to begin with, but the speakers were just terrible. Typical paper cone, but I don't get how they could sound THAT bad. I was surprised to find the tweeter was a black colored soft dome, not metallic looking but still soft dome nonetheless. Doesn't help with sound quality though lol.

I ended up disconnecting the center speaker and the 2 - 3.5" in the doors. I may end up putting new 3.5's in later, but we'll see.

Does changing out speakers or anything thing else then adding aftermarket amps, cleansweeps, dsps, crossovers, whatevers (obviously this is not my field of expertise, lol) mess up the MFT voice stuff? I thought it was all interconnected together.
