My experience with going from E85>Flex>93

We had two stations that had E85 and one of them just closed up, making it harder to get. I'm also in the process of putting the car away for the winter and I didn't want to store it with E85 anyway. I loaded the Lund Flex tune and started it. It started and stalled within seconds. I did this for 4-5 times, but it wouldn't stay running. I contacted Lund and they said that the Gen 3 is having issues with the computer not learning properly. I ended up running it low with E85, fill it with 93 and then flash it with the pump gas tune. It ran a little rough for about 20 seconds and smoothed out. Within a few minutes I got a check engine light. Ran code and it said "Fuel Control System A Too Lean Bank 1". Now I'm really nervous that I'm screwing things up, but I was hoping that the code was just part of the "learning" process.. I went home, cleared the code and it hasn't come back on after driving about 20 miles. I'm tempted to just go back to stock though.
Funny thing is, I didn't have a problem with going from 93>Flex>E85, but going the other way was an issue.

You should be fine. I don't know about Lund tunes but the stock tune can handle up to and maybe more than 30% E.

You shouldn't ever need to use your pump gas tune. When your done using your e85r tune, switch to flex, put pump gas in it and call it a day.

Don’t sweat it, I experienced the same thing 2 years ago. When you go from E85R to 93 or flex tune the computer begins its fuel targeting at 93 octane which is why it stalled out. The car expected 93 and to then begin learning but your car provided E85 which resulted in your symptoms. Now that it started and ran with the new fuel you’re all good.

The gen3 has been out 4+ years and Lund is only now figuring that out? Why do people give them money?
I agree. I've noticed there has been a lot of neg feedback for Lund. What happened? These guys seemed like they were on the top tuners for mustangs. They went form everyone recommending them to don't touch them with a 10' pole.

Yeah with a 93 tune its flowing less fuel through the injectors.. then if your tank has too much e85 left in it, it will be lean.

Thanks. I couldn't go from E85>flex so I went from E85>93 with no issues so far. I could probably go back up to flex. I'd love to have the flexibility of using both fuels, but Lund said the flex tune is only a transition tune and should not be used all the time.
I'm assuming your running a Flex tune in your 2019? Are you using both 93 and E85 without issue? I usually use E85 during the summer and pump gas in the fall and through winter storage.

No I'm boosted on pump gas but yes I ran flex, e85r and e54r tunes for around 40k miles before that. You can run a flex tune all the time with out issues. The only douche I've seen say it's only a transitional tune is Alex and he's a retard. Lots of guys run flex tunes year round with out issue. If you can't switch from e85r to flex then either your not letting it learn right or your tune is garbage.

It was also explained that the 93 tune and E85 tune are written specially for that fuel and the flex is very middle of the road. Kinda makes sense, but I’m not a tuner. Speaking of tuners... What happened at Lund that they fell from grace so quickly?

I will say that my car doesn’t run as well with 93 on the flex tune. It’s less crisp in the way it sounds and runs.

Their tuning is fine, their attitudes (mostly Alex) are just absolutely trash.

Mostly a customer service thing. The tunes themselves are still some of the best but between Alex running his mouth about customers and Lund not putting any effort into different situations that may arise during the tuning process, some people are switching.
