455HP/455TQ LT1- nice to have but its only 20hp. Tune/CAI can get you there with extra

8 Speed Auto/Rev-matching Manual- Nice to have but not mandatory

TFT Display fully digital speedo- Meh, I prefer the analog gauges actually. More digital=more can break or go wrong

Heated Steering wheel- Meh 1/4 of the country would never use this.

HUD- Meh, never been a fan in it's current iteration. It has a long way to go. It's also more distraction from more gadget people who can't even drive to begin with don't need. Glancing down at gauges has worked for 100 years.

Active-Exhaust- Not necessary since most of us are ripping out our stock exhaust anyway to get a custom tone. Id rather have 20 tone/volume choices than open/closed still on whatever the manufacturer dictates as max volume/tone.

better LED interior lighting- Meh gimmicky. The Mustang's is done tastefully at least the interior doesn't look like a teen designed it.

Soft-touch everywhere- I think the Mustang interior is fine honestly. I'm not feeling up my interior but driving the car.

Magnaride suspension- nice to have and surely coming in the Mustang- but unless you are pushing the car's limits like on the track few will notice despite buying the option.

infotainment joystick- not really a positive

wireless-charging- not really a positive since only 1 mainstream smartphone has built in wireless charging right now. Aftermarket wouldn't be expensive either.

Personally I think people like more options to say they have more options, not because they will use them. I am willing to be 95% of the PP GTs will never see a track/agrresive driving situation where even the normal GT components would be pushed to their limits to really need the PP.

It's psychological to have the big brakes etc even if you never really need them- more of a bragging right than utility.

The current Camaro is already thousands more than a comparably equipped GT. Once you through lighter, better engine, magnaride, active exhaust and the goodies on you have a $50k car!!

And looks still count which is why 90% of people buy the car they buy, not for the performance numbers. And it seems a major consensus that the Gen 6 looks like crap.

Some people can find anything to complain about to make their position seem valid. I am no super fan of GM either.

But your rant did nothing to touch on the real good stuff about the Camaro6 and the interior is miles ahead of the Malibu interior and only has a few similarities. People called the Mustang a mash up Fusion. There will always be parts of other cars that are incorporated into a look or design.

Lets not forget.

455HP/455TQ LT1, 8 Speed Auto, Rev-matching Manual, TFT Display fully digital speedo, Heated Steering wheel, HUD, Active-Exhaust, better LED interior lighting, Soft-touch everywhere, Magnaride suspension, infotainment joystick, wireless-charging.

To me that's a long list of stuff missing on the Mustang.

For what its worth, the Mustang is much better looking and has much better visibility.

GM added pretty much every feature you would want in a car, where do we go from here? Cool thing is, the next Mustang will probably have all these features.. yay!
It was a cost compromise on GM's part. They used the Cadillac ATS/CTS chassis, corvette engine and simply refreshed the design of the 5th gen Camaro. That alone saved a lot of money. They also brought those features out after the Mustang launched in an attempt to "one up" Ford. I'll bet the Camaro will be more expensive fully loaded as a compromise. The only reason people claim the Mustang got short changed by Ford now is because of the new Camaro, when regardless GM would have added or done something to beat up the mustang. They've been doing this since the 60's when the Camaro was first born. Personally I like the looks of the mustang and the visibility better. Along with the originality it was a solid buy for me with no regrets. As time moves on more cars will come out with more features including the mustang itself to keep people interested. I, for one, am fine with the competition, it just means better technology and better cars.

Exactly, few min after I said it. Price always county. It'll be a damn well near $50k car fully specced with mangaride ($2,000 alone) etc. If you are going to spend $45-55k then you better throw the GT350 into the running then- 500+hp, magnaride, lighter, all the goodies.

Hell for near $45-50k you could build up 1 beast of a blown GT with 700-800hp+ and a beefed up suspension that will kick the crap out of any Camaro they build in 2016.

Weird how people keep adding 20-200k to the price of a Mustang for just changing those two sides of the faux stitching stuff...
Having been an engineer for the past 40 years let me put a cost on changing the padding on the sides of the center stack. These are estimates based on the cost of doing similar things over the years.

1. New molds will be required that don't have the faux stiching. Cost $300,000.
2. New stiching equipment and tooling to hold the pads while being stiched. Cost $100,000
3. Then there is the cost of qualifying another design. Cost $50,000

That is what Ford would have to invest just to offer the stiched pads. The actual manufacturing cost of the pads won't be significantly higher but the upfront cost is. The interior team had a budget thay had to work within and I am quite sure it was considered but like everything the features and upgrades were prioritized and there wasn't budget left for something 90% or more of the target customers would never notice. I am surprised they bothered with stiching on the dash pads. In the big scheme of things the stiching in the premier trim packaging is just as much faux as the molded in stiching. Neither are holding anything together, they only give the appearance of doing so.

Well, just because a pony car is adolescent doesn't mean that they have to include every cool looking feature snd style into the interior design. It is just way to busy and design wise it is all over the place.

At least Chevy didn't offer Lamborghini scissor doors as a factory option, seeing as that must be their number 1 request from enthusiast's judging by the last Camaro car show I stopped by.
Lol are yuh that dude on youtube

that's not Ford's fault. That's just an import tax your country imposes. Again you're getting a 435bhp V8. If that isn't something you want you have choices, last I checked Spain wasn't communist.
Ummm. Yes it is as they are the ones that set the base price for the car. And they know full well what the taxes are in the rest of Europe. Yes what your saying is right for some of the northern countries where tax is based on emissions/fuel consumption, but thats not the case in Spain. Like i said before, Spain has got one of the lowest taxes and its still 56000, and you only pay tax on the base price of the car.
So yes, it is Fords fault because they still set the base price.

I just hope they add the option later to have the side pieces upgraded along with the dash or even just a faux stitching delete. Rather have it plain.

But first need to save some more and move to Germany....

The problem with this, is that you're the one evaluating all of this based on what you think is right. Personally I want the active exhaust, adjustable suspension, HUD, digital tach/speedo with customizable gauges, and the rev matching manual. You can't just say "meh" to these features and write them off saying that "1/4 of the country won't use it", or "most of us are removing the stock anyways". That 1/4 of the country includes Michigan, where Ford AND Chevy are located. There's quite a few Mustangs/Camaros around here.

For example, maybe some of us are removing the stock exhaust because we dislike the stock sound and want something louder. Having the ability to switch between a quiet exhaust and a loud exhaust is a feature I guarantee is quite popular on the current Chevy Camaro/Corvette, and one I would definitely sign up for.

Sounds like you are just listing the reasons to confirm your own purchase. I's ok to just say that the camaro one upped the mustang in all those categories. I hope ford does it right back in 2017.

So you want Ford to ship you a car, which they are doing because you asked for it, at a lower base price than they sell in the US so that you don't have to pay as much just because your country has a large import tax? Please tell me you understand why it would actually make sense for Ford to increase the base price when they ship to Europe given the circumstances.

My point exactly though, this "list" is highly subjective. Some people couldn't care less, some care, some only about certain items. How something is better or not is in each person's own opinion and merely one opinion. There is no "master list" of how something is better or not as people are trying to throw out there that Ford must jump on ASAP. Ford is selling more Mustangs monthly right now then they have in over a decade as is.

It's not subjective. If the camaro has something that the mustang doesnt then it is in the camaros favor. The technology in the interior is better, both the manual and automatic transmissions are better. Offering the magnetic suspension is better. Like i said it is not subjective when it is clear that camaro offers better options. This isnt apples vs oranges anymore. Its apples and apples now and it is clear that chevy one upped the mustang as far as performance and technology. The only thing that is subjective is looks, which I still believe Ford has as it made the more drastic change.

LOL Ok. Better is subjective in its own definition. Some people don't WANT to pay $2,000 for a magnetic suspension on a daily driver; the current price is all they could spend as is or willing to spend. That is why Magnaride is an OPTION as it stands, and they didn't just say "oh ok let's just jack up the MRSP $2k and force it on people." Option in itself means its need is subjectively needed by the end user or else it'd be standard equipment. If they offered it in 2015 would I have ordered it? No, not for my daily driver that was already $38k and change out the door. Not worth another $2k (or more) to me.

The 6 speed auto is just fine, you act like there is something wrong with it; Ford engineers know a lot better than you or I. It was just perfectly fine being 6 speed until the Camaro news came along- plenty of cars have used 8 speed autos and never heard a bark from Mustang owners. Sad kind of now to see fist pounding instead of enjoying what you bought.

You can't just say force fully loaded V8 cars and sell nothing less, 'Murica F-yea. I mean it doesn't work that way people have budgets and certain features simply aren't important to them, so yes what is "needed" or "better" is subjective based on if you have money for that feature or even care since you use the car to cruise and go to work.

Subjective is what people think is needed on their own car, so everything listed was subjective in the eye of each individual owner. Nothing was deal breaker, and if it was by all means go sell your S550 taking a huge hit on value and get a Camaro. Nothing is stopping you if any of those items were deal breakers. But wait, people aren't going to do that because those items aren't that life or death to have. Again, subjective.

The PP is about a 2k option, and guess what? A whole lot of people are paying for it! There is something wrong with the 6 speed when compared to the competition. If everyone us sourcing Zf8speeds or doing their own what does that tell you?

You seem to get it, then seem to don't get it.

The point is, the Camaro has options that the Mustang doesn't even have. Yes, it's subjective if each owner wants them. That's why they're OPTIONS. Optional. Don't have to get them, but you can. That's why the Camaro has better offerings now. I'm not talking about current S550 owners trading in, but I'm talking people cross shopping the two. The Mustang now has the fewest options, plain and simple. No adjustable suspension. No adjustable exhaust. No adjustable HUD, or dash.

The fact that the S550 2016 information has been revealed, and none of this is available unless you go to the GT350 which will be subjected to horrendous ADM for awhile, is disappointing. I would pay for adjustable suspension, and adjustable exhaust for sure. Ford has obviously realized these are attractive options as they will be offering both of them on the GT350, and yet they're keeping it on a exclusive level and not offering it anywhere BUT the GT350. The Mustang will be at least a year behind the Camaro now in terms of offerings, and that's assuming these things are implemented in 2017.
