Or how about some slimmer seats that we always see in the concepts? Never understood why those never make it into production, or at least some form of it.
You mean like these?

Because they're impractical, expensive, and ugly IMO. Never sat in them, but they look uncomfortable too.

Those look more like seat cushions than seats. I do like that the drivers seat is given a special color, that's kind of cool.

I doubt you'll see an improvement in back seat room with the next generation car if the rumors about it being smaller are true. Telescoping steering would be great though.
I read that the multi link IRS should actually allow for more backseat and cargo room.

Think we'll see HUD (head up display)?? Hope so.

Recently drove a buddy's car with it and now a big fan of it. Feels like being in a fighter jet and real convenient not having to take eyes off the road.

I dont care as much about the exterior or chassis not being a total redesign. What I really want to see is Ford start all over with the interior. If there's any place they need to take a look at again to see if they can minimize for weight savings, it's there.

There's so much bulky plastic interior panels that stick out and protrude in unnecessary ways. The interior space of much smaller cars feel bigger than the Mustang simply because they do a better job at trimming the excess, making the interior panels closer to the actual sheetmetal and slimmer designed seats. BMW, Porsche, etc have all shown you don't need a huge cabin to make it feel roomier. The weight and money this would save should help them towards re upholstering it with nicer leather and better quality plastics too.

Ford has announced plans to add more physical buttons and knobs to its MyFord Touch infotainment system following complaints that the system is too distracting and overly complicated to operate.

First launched for the 2011 model year, Ford touted MyFord Touch as a major step forward in vehicle infotainment, but the system was widely criticize by owners and the media alike for slow load times and an abstruse interface. Ford has since released several updates for MyFord Touch, but the system's ongoing shortcoming have dinged Ford's reputation in quality surveys. Consumer Reports even went as far as to say MyFord Touch “stinks”.

But Ford has apparently been listening to those complaints as the automaker announced on Monday that it will update MyFord Touch this summer to mirror the system currently used in the F-150 pickup truck. The F-150's version of MyFord Touch relies on physical buttons as well as a touchscreen interface.

“F-150 blends touch screen capability with traditional buttons and knobs, a similar balance planned for future Ford vehicles,” the automaker said in a statement.

“We are committed to listening to our customers and improving MyFord Touch to keep drawing in new customers and increasing satisfaction with even higher quality,” said Raj Nair, group vice president, global product development.

Ford says 79 percent of its vehicles are optioned with MyFord Touch, so the mid-year update will be an important one for the infotainment system.

Ford uses a similar system called MyLincoln Touch in its line of Lincoln luxury vehicles, but the automaker didn't reveal if the MyFord Touch changes would be applied to Lincoln's system.
Sounds like this is the F-150's MFT is the one going into the Mustang and future Ford vehicles. I wish they'd just rework the interface instead of adding more buttons. Going against the trend here.

My buddy has a F150, trust me it's better with the buttons. More intuitive and less cumbersome. It doesn't have to be ugly either. Really just depends on the layout and design of the center stack.
