I guess mine is different, mine does not hit the rev limiter when shifting past redline, It cuts fuel just like when you do the no lift shift. There is probably a rev limiter when revving from stop.
If you are tuned, your tuner probably put it above 8k rpm. I set mine at 8200.

My car is pretty new (only 23K miles). I am looking forward to E85 and a proper tune. Followed by SC after. :like:

I am thinking about selling my supercharged 18 and getting into Mach 1 with a 6 speed.

I am biased because I own one. I love it, its my daily and it really does it all for me. Coming from a MT82 the Tremec is a breath of fresh air :like:

It's probably just me but it just sounds wierd to my ears to hear someone tell a Mustang GT owner not to floor it
No, It's not just you. And my A10 with a Centricharger loves it.

Never overheated and I'm at the track at least once a month. 😉
I don't mean any offense by this, but it just means you're slow 😆

Any GT when pushed appropriately on track will overheat. The a10 in particular will tap out quicker because of its silly internal thermostat that runs it at 210F by default lol

Yeah you’re not going to hurt the motor from lugging it unless you’re boosted. Lugging isn’t really a thing with a computer controlled engine like this. It will limit your throttle application even if you are flooring it.
This, anyway people think that "lugging it" means going at lower RPMs at lower gears, and that's not lugging, it's just proper operation.
My A10 sits happily at 1.3k RPMs for ages, maybe even less.
Even modern turbo cars tend to stay lower with the RPMs while turbo pressures are not that high.

You can definitely feel any engine when you are too low with the RPMs in a too high gear, it will vibrate and make a kind of grunting noise.

LOL you have an A10. Your definition of Lugging is different than a Manual sorry. Automatic will downshift as needed per demand, plus you have short gear ratios. It wont let you floor it in third going 1k rpms. That right there would cause hesitation, jerk, lugging on the engine. With experience no Manual driver will keep it that low, you can feel when you got to downshift.

But I agree on your second comment. Not trying to hate just saying. lol

true, but that's WELL past the point of you should've shifted a LOT sooner.
What’s up with you guys, aren’t you supposed to get it low enough that the anti stall kicks in and it drives itself … ? :giggle:
