I currently have a resonator delete ( x pipe ) and a muffler delete. Later on i would like to install catless headers to the car making it straight pipe but do not want it to be so loud.

what options do i have regarding a nice throaty but decently loud note. High flow resonator?High flow mufflers? Both?

Earplugs, seriously, it will be raspy. I did a resonator delete on my AE factory setup using the Borla Switchfire mid pipe. Sounds just right, and still can leave it in Quiet mode. This option was a motivator in my purchase, I would not have it any other way.

What i want to do is the catless headers but i want to keep the throaty sound. The question is how do i achieve that. I do t have active exhaust, i wish i did

I believe Ive seen where several people used catless headers with the factory exhaust setup (factory resonator, factory non active mufflers) and were very happy with the sound

The best sounding mustangs run longtube headers into a quality catback. Header options would be Corsa, Stainless Works / Stainless power, Texas Speed, Kooks, or ARH. Catback options would be MBRP, Corsa, Borla, or AWE. We sell all of the brands here at www.lethalperformance.com. Please feel free to send me a message if you have any questions or would like information on our Black Friday sale!

I have Stainless Works long tubes, the factory resonators and the Borla S-type axle back mufflers(non-active) and it sounds great. BUT.. cold start is insanely loud!!! Full throttle is also very load, but deep not raspy.

You're kinda going about this the wrong way.

Catless and LTs tend to make things more raspy, so you're not going to really get a "throaty" sound by doing those.

Is your goal power or sound?

My goal would be in the middle of those. My plans for power is to save up for a supercharger down the loan. For now im happy with its current power.

I'd skip the LTs then, not much power and will make it a helluva lot louder and raspier.

A cat back like the AWE Touring that uses an H-pipe is a good option to get a deep tone with no drone. I'm sure it would still be very loud with headers but less raspy and harsh than X-pipe and muffler delete with headers.

What i did was a texas Speed Catless LTH into x pipe and the roush active exhaust lite io. Mine is not as loud as a x-pipe muffler delete combo, but it is pretty close. Sounds decent and no drone i would recommend other than the price point, but may be worth it if you have petty neighbors.

An offroad setup with an x and muffler delete is going to be very loud and raspy as others have stated.

You could run a catted longtube and pick up power while not being as raspy, will still have rasp and be loud due to the muffler delete.

If you want to tone it down some you could do the catted longtube with an aftermarket axle back. Having the x will give it some rasp but the axle back will give a different tone while not making it extremely loud; depending on which axleback.

Or we could do a catted long tube setup with a full aftermarket catback. If you want a deeper tone I would look into the MBRP or AWE setups as they have an H pipe and that is where you get that deeper old school muscle car tone. If you want a raspier but still toned down from a straight pipe setup you could do a Borla or Corsa catback.

Hit me up and we can get you dialed in for sure! Tons of options in stock ready to go even with killer Black Friday deals!!!!

Awe-Tuning Touring Catback and LTH headers. I already have the catback installed. I will install headers in around 2 weeks. I can send a video after the installation.
