I personally am not a fan of the VOAs on some of the motorcraft fluids ..yes I know they meet specs..but after running high end fluids in transmissions in cars I had before that has issues from the factory and then became non existent I prefer to run a much higher quality fluid .

Calimer cocktail
The old one or the new one? Why do people keep calling it Calimer? It’s Amsoil…. Apparently the old “calimer cocktail” was 2 quarts Amsoil syncromesh and .75 quarts of Amsoil trans 75-90. Then he changed it and said he recommends only Amsoil 75-90 trans fluid and that was on his Facebook page in June of 2021. Literally took me hours to find what the “calimer cocktail” is…

Motul multi dctf all the way. Best ive tried and stopped searching after.
Good to know. Switched to Amsoil from BG last fall and have not been too happy with it. Going to try Motul before my next event.

It's called the Calimer cocktail, because Ben Calimer devised the recipe or mixture using Amsoil fluids. I believe he changed the recipe for cars that were track focused, but these transmissions originally had a DCT fluid in them so the OG formula more closely aligns with the viscosity of the OEM fluid. I ran the "old" Calimer cocktail in my 2017 for years and it always shifted perfectly. I think peoples mixed experiences with these MT-82's boil down more to quality control than anything. Some people put 700 HP through them with no issues, others have grinding, gear nibble, vibrations etc on bone stock cars.

Thank you, that was actually helpful!

Guys over on TMO who've tried every combo under the sun arrived at Motorcraft DCT + friction modifier for best combination of shift quality and track temps.

It's difficult to be all things. If it shifts like butter when cold, it probably doesn't have enough viscosity to protect at high temps. If it protects at high temps, it's probably going to be notchy and less buttery at cold temps.

I read somewhere that the Calimer cocktail basically ended up being "not recommended for track use."

If you have a trans cooler, you can probably get away with a little thinner fluid because it rarely reaches the same temps as those without one.

Also keep in mind that some of the fluid selection depends on the blocker ring materials you're going to use (which is why a lot of trans shops despise Royal Purple).

Give it some more time and you’ll see Motul Multi-DCTF will be recommended…….

That Amsoil cocktail is nothing more than a plagiarized version of the Redline manual transmission cocktail from the 1990’s

I have Amsoil DCTF in mine and it seems to shift just fine, maybe just a tad better than the factory fill.. I hardly drive it on the street anymore so my opinion is probably mute on this.. On the autocross course I rarely come out of second gear so...

When I visit the Motul site it says the Multi DCTF is not recommended, the High Torque DCTF says it is....

Where does it say that it's not recommended?
The product page states it meets Ford WSS-M2C200-D2 spec for MT-82.

I’m not sure how long Motul High Torque DCTF has been available, I think this is a newer product.
It’s clearly labeled;
Multi-DCTF is Semisynthetic (Technosynthese)
High Torque DCTF is 100% Ester based

For those that don’t know the Multi-DCTF was developed and tested for 1200 HP Nissan GT-R track cars.

I’m interested in knowing exactly when did Motul start offering the High Torque DCTF.
