MT82 Trans Fluid Experience

The trans in my PP GT was very notchy and noisy with stock fluid.

I switched to BG Syncro Shift 2. The notchyness when away and I was very happy.

Over a period of time, the trans started to whine more than it did stock.

I switched back to recommended Ford Fluid XT-11-QDC Dual Clutch Transmission Fluid and the XL-18 friction modifier additive.

I have only put a few miles on it, but it seems to be shifting great and is much less noisy.

I am coming to the conclusion with no actual proof that Ford is not putting the friction modifier from the factory. This is just my theory - nothing but experience to back it up.

I have around 1K miles on my RP fluid and I love it. Whine is gone, notchiness is gone, and cold weather is much improved.

I didn't notice much difference switching to RP. It just got very cold here the first few shifts feel like the transmission is broken. I'm thinking about switching back to stock

Used royal purple before and wasn't happy. But then again I was on a Toyota transmission and it was up in the Northeast very very cold climate. Going to give it another shot here in a warmer climate on this transmission

Some have had good luck with a refill of the stock QDC + XL-18 additive.

cold the RP is a little notchy, once warmed up its way better than factory fill which is always notchy

I used to run ATF in my Genesis, the tranny was horrid in that thing but it liked ATF better than RP or anything else "for Manual Trans".
