Mine is in a similar state with a whole new clutch assembly. I might’ve mentioned it here or in another thread. There’s a lot of repeat threads.

The friction disk decided to leave the chat room…

haha, it lived a good life of hellish track days at Thunderhill, eating up a McLaren 570s and several epic battles with Porsches.

It will be missed.

It’s replacement is badass though.

I likely won't ever track my Bullitt, other than an occasional COTA, so will likely last 100K+/- but the Turkish Sourced Clutch paired with a Chinese Sourced Transmission is ridiculous......

1. Definitely do COTA. (Pre covid a bunch of track rat friends we’re gonna make the trip from CA).

2. The Mustang (and all its badge engineered variants) are built upon a globally sourced, value engineered platform. Things were built cheaply to create a price point that would sell cars and make profit.

I’ve known many people that have driven their mustangs well into to 150k plus range with no problems.

I also know folks that’ll turn a lap time that’ll embarrass many 6 figure cars but change brakes, tires and clutches like a freshman at college changes his/her condoms/panties (respectively) on a Saturday night.

It’s all about perspective and realistic expectations.

Lastly, many higher price point European cars has parts sourced from all over the world too.

I guess I lucked out with my factory clutch. At 63k miles, driven hard since I bought the car new at the dealership, taught 3 people how to drive stick with it, and I shift at ~7400-7500 when driving the car hard, quite often at that. It's still holding up and hasn't skipped a beat, but I am still ordering a Exedy 500 kit pretty soon because I know I am at that mileage where it starts to go. TBH I'm more worried about the slave giving out since that seems to be a common issue.

I got the new clutch in and installed the shifter and yesterday I got the transmission back in. Also installed the new clutch fluid line. I’m at work today but tomorrow I’m going to try and finish up the exhaust and driveshaft and get her back on the ground and started up.

Mine seems like there is a 2 inch dead spot as soon as I push the clutch in. Then all is well. I’ve been driving the car for a few days with no issues.

i did go get a Harbor Freight Vacuum Bleeder and used that instead of having to pump the brakes like everyone said.

I’m curious how bad my clutch looks. I power shifted 2-3 against a hellcat and my pedal got stuck to the floor. Won’t go into gear when running but will if the car is off and there is a whining noise coming from under the car

No bueno. Sounds like a slave cyl failure at the least and a new clutch at the worst.

If your tearing apart the car to change the slave might as well change the clutch assy too anyways

Yeah I was going to do the clutch as well since my Paxton will be here next week. I reached out to Calimer about a Stage 3 to see if they have one readily available

Gotcha. I recently helped a friend install a stage 2 in his car and that ended up being a total mess.

Hopefully yours will be a much smoother process

What issues did you and your friend encounter during that stage 2 install?

Total lack of communication. We did the install and found an issue with the slave cylinder.

Apparently there are different versions of MT-82 that does or does not require a slave cylinder spacer. We went back and forth with them and their answers sometimes contradicted themselves. It was like 2 different people were answering their emails.

Long story short is that we had to drop the trans again to remove the slave cylinder spacer.

Glad I know about it but it would’ve been great to know beforehand and asked them all the right questions before install.
