Similar thing happened to me at the track today. No fluid leaks and behavior is similar to the Slave Cylinder failures that I've experienced in both my previous Z32 and Acura TL-A.

I'm sure the clutch assembly is toast though lol. Looking into replacing both.

In the past I've had really good results with Exedy but open to other options.

If you were beating on it and your clutch is shot and slipping you could have overheated the fluid in the slave/throw out bearing from all the heat and thus little pressure in the pedal. Thus when sitting overnight pedal pressure came back. Your clutch is likely shot. I'd do the whole kit while there, new low mass flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, etc. Do it all once and right.

OEM parts are rarely 'top shelf' and always at a price point, especially the 'wear' items. I normally upgrade when replacing from wear or failure.

In most cases OEM is 'good enough' but even though the Mustang is a performance car, there are only so many 5K launches that a stock driveline will take.

If you still have not taken anything apart, then see if you can pull the clutch pedal up with the top of your foot. If you can, and now have a firm pedal, then your slave is defective. You should be able to drive it around without any problems until the slave bleeds down again. Mine did than and the slave was replaced under warranty about 40k ago. It has worked fine ever since.
