Sorry to hear of your misfortune.

.....since this is becoming a regular occurrence (eco-booms) , instead of starting a new thread each time, there should be a "Did your Eco go Boom today?" sticky thread"......

CNCWERX is calling your name! On another note, while installing my aux fuel kit this weekend I noticed a little bit of oil in the throttle body. I then looked inside the intake manifold and saw a puddle of oil, I would guess about 2 ounces. Removed the intake manifold and my valves were coked... anyone else inspect their intake manifold and valves? Hoping aux fuel cleans it up a bit

In previous threads, Stormtrooper has indicated his car was producing 27lbs of peak boost. At the time I read this I was concerned and was going to say something but didn't. Hopefully he will be able to tell us all the parameters relative at the time of detonation, what let go, speed, rpm, boost, temp, etc.

Sorry this happened, been following your Youtube adventures with the Mustang since you started mods.

Two ounces seems like quite a bit, someone with more experience may want to chime in on this, but could the turbo be leaking ? Or is the catch can not working correctly, shouldn't it be picking up most of the oil ? How much oil are you collecting from your cc ?

The aux fueling should help out a lot with that. Do you not have a catch can?

I took my IM off about a month or so back cuz I was curious. No puddles, but there was definitely a noticeable amoun of build up. Not coked up bad though. Could still see the valves fine they just weren't shiny. I bought my car in November 2014 in ft worth. No catch can and haven't had the PCV TSB replacement part either. I've been tuned the last 10000 miles or so. Other mods in Sig.

Sorry to see this happened. I'm hoping this was the cause here though

All Joking aside I do seem to notice a pattern of Failures in early (Valencia) engines. If we can get a unified place for all of our members who had failures, build date and what broke perhaps we can define a real pattern.

Mine is a 09/14 engine. I wonder if there's a bad batch of them? So far so good though. I'm almost to 40k miles.

That's what I'm looking for, a bad batch, It has happened with other ford motors (even the Coyote) and alot of other manufacturers (especially GM)

Mine was built 2/15 now at 17k exactly. No smoking or any other issues.
The numbers are probably small in the grand scheme of things, I'd say at 17 and 40k anything that might have gone wrong should have. so far they all look like low millage motors which supports my theory that it's a bad batch from the factory.
