It can still happen. (just fixed a car about 3 weeks ago for that, was on E85)
This one recently was on pump 91 though.

But basically when the trans shifts and the cams move.
There is a moment where very rapidly it can swing to some different timing tables. If there is to much spark in those tables, it knocks, then jumps back to the OP tables

ProChargerTECH, wondering if you have any suggestions for me. I sent you the log you requested a week or two back showing my knock and you were curious about the timing. I never heard back from you, wondering if you have any way of helping me. My tuner has been trying to send me tunes with the timing reduced, but from what he is describing my car isn't accepting the changes. In case you don't recall, I'm the guy in Nevada with 91 octane, you couldn't get the PC tune to work with my car so you sent me to a local tuner who turned my knock sensors off, so I ended up finding another tuner via email and still can't get the knock sensors to quiet down.

I've given up on my Procharger HO setup.

Was getting 10 degrees of Knock retard after every hard shift. I dont have headers and checked absolutely everything. I swapped every pulley to make sure it wasn't a bad pulley and also upgraded to an American Racing belt tensioner to make sure it wasn't belt slap or belt slip.

Done!

diablomatt Does this all sound familiar to what I had before you did whatever it was you did to my Tune regarding Tip In Retard?

Ever since as we looked at it a few weeks back my knock has been gone (with the exception of a random hit here or there from gas, bounce, whatever) and has been running great. Hopefully something can be done before the market is flooded with all of these used supercharger systems!

I will take a peek at it when I am in the office. However, if he is having issues getting yours tuned, we had issues with it, this thing sounds like a bugger....

Whos your tuner? Curious if others on here are using him with success?

Some areas just have terrrrrrible fuel, and it really takes some work to get it right. (like the one that I just dealt with from MN... took 5 revisions from his tuner, but finally got enough timing out of the shift areas to get her happy)

The most often thing I see in this order is...
- terrible fuel
- clogged (failing) cats
- headers hitting things
- aggressive tune

I feel for the guys that try to "remote" tune cars that they can't see or hear or feel in person. Theres just so many things that can cause weird issues.

But with that being said... there are couple hundred of HO systems out there in the wild now. (not counting STG2 systems)... and with that low of boost, it's very very very rare to have knock. (unless you live in an area with sketchy fuel stations, or 87 octane only)

Rob Shoemaker is the tuner I have been working with. Several on this forum recommends him as he did their tune on the S550.
I know my car will accept the new tune installs as he sent me an update to help with a hot starting problem and the new revision fixes that problem. But since then he's sent a couple of revisions to try to take some timing out and the car just keeps acting the same.

Here is the last comment I recieved from him "I have it pulling a ton on tip in
and the borderline has been decreased significantly. I think the controller just isn't taking the changes"

^^^ likely he is tuning the wrong tables, probably adjusting the optimum performance timing tables, which aren't even used in the 2015+ models

did the knock atleast go away?
Left the GT350 mani and swapped to e85. Zero knock anywhere.

To be clear things that were tried:

All new pullies
New belt tensioner with 25 percent more tension
BAP swap
3 new tanks of 93 and a can of octanium
Don't have headers
Magnaflow cat back and all connection in exhaust checked for tightness and leaks

All metal parts of intercooler checked for clearance

One of the things I noticed is the HO kit belt touches a cooling fin on the front engine cover. This was reported by several members in forums so I pre ground that fin to clear the belt. On taking the procharger off I found belt dust on the bracket and near that spot that was ground down indicating it was still touching at different times. I could grind a little more off and get the clearance but I'm sesriously done messing with it.

How does the car feel to you going back to NA plus e85? I almost did the same damn thing.

Doesn't feel like the boost did (when 10 degrees of timing wasn't being pulled) but it's still fun. Did 47 lbs injectors and OPGs so I'm reving the hell out it.

Anyone ever try to remove the intake manifold, inspect the knock sensors and retorque them?

Mine were checked when I installed the 350 manifold a month before the Procharger.
I mean not that it matters anymore, but they could have been torqued too tight, and while it didn't cause excess noise for an NA setup, they were too tight for a noisy 700whp procharger setup.

Just sayin.....
