Also, doing some research, and y'all are welcome to school me here, but it appears if we can get ahold of a DBC database file we will be able to convert the hexadecimal to a traditional text format that will be easier to understand. I'm tempted to pull some strings at Ford and see if I can find it from someone I know up in Detroit...
Pull those strings real hard. :D

I really doubt this is something that can be removed with as-built data changes. What are you doing with the car that the rev hang bothers you? I only notice it when I skip gears upshifting after revving the engine pretty high.

I played around with this a bit on the highway yesterday, and it seemed like when I let up on the clutch just enough to take it off the floor (and disengage the switch that senses that the clutch isn't fully depressed) that the rev hang went away.

Now, if you disable this switch, you won't be able to start the car. But if you're a bit enterprising GiddyUp15, you could probably figure a way to temporarily enable it to turn the engine over.
Yeah you're not the first one to think I'm crazy! :) I really notice it when in stop and go traffic or driving slow through parking lots or the neighborhood. I'll for example cruise in 1st or 2nd, creeping along, then approach stopped traffic and press the clutch in. My car will hang revs after clutch is depressed, and even go down in steps (hang at 2500 for a couple seconds, then 1500 for another, then finally idle). It's annoying as hell and mine seems to be much worse than others I've talked to (Lund says they've never even seen it on all the cars they have tuned). My car does it stock too, as I went back to stock and had the dealer make sure nothing was wrong with the car.

I don't want to fill up this thread with this issue, since I agree we likely won't be able to get rid of the rev hanging by going through BCM changes.

Yeah I have two different performance tunes and it seemed to make it worse (may have actually been the exhaust and cold air I did at the same time). I know I'm not the only one with this issue but it does seem a lot of people got rid of it with a tune. No luck for me, for some reason. Even Lund and Steeda are scratching their heads about it. Guess I'm a lucky one!

I'm also installing a copy of the Ford IDS tool to see what I can poke around with. I may have to educate myself in programming again or reach out to some interwebs friends and see what we see. With the right people in tow, between some contacts and such I may be able to make some breakthroughs. No promises though..

And while you're at it, don't forget the digital speedo. :D

Thanks for your feedback and information.

There is no way for user yet, but we can do it on our end. We will add these parameters to ABD section and send you a test version to check.

If they need more folks to test, let me know. I don't mind sitting in my car in my garage playing with a laptop for no reason. ;)

Just curious - for S550's with the automatic transmission - have you stumbled on any code that will be editable to modify shift points (w/ or w/o use of paddle shifters)?

Is there any confirmation that the Wi-Fi version works?
Of the ODBLink?

I would think the bluetooth is more useful. In addition to programming, you can use it to put gauges on your phone. USB bluetooth dongles for your laptop are cheap if you don't have it built in. Food for thought...
