Michelin P4S differences

Hello, I was wondering if somebody could tell me what the difference is are on Tire Rack between the normal Michelin P4S and the Michelin P4SFP tires that are listed that are $60 more piece? I don’t track my car, but do some spirited back road driving.

For spirited backroad driving, the PS4S is kick ass.

I am guessing the track version would only give you some longer life at the expensive of comfort/noise.

That PS4SFP (Ford Performance) came out in 2020 and was specifically developed for the GT500. Ford Performance had Michelin develop this tire with a dual-compound tread for enhanced dry grip and wet handling. They also have acoustic foam inside to quiet them down a bit. They are available in 305/30R20 and 315/30R20.

They all have dual wet/dry compounds, that's a standard MP4S thing.

The size and the foam may be the unique bits, but you never know with manufacturers working with tire companies. Could be other details.

Agree about the dual compounds. I should have mentioned unique as it is not the same dual compounds that are in the off the shelf PS4S. I remember reading that like 6 years ago when they were developing this tire for the 500.

You can definitely buy some cheap tires and put them on a Mustang in 2026. It should be illegal because it's so stupid, but I believe in you.
