Hi All,
Looking through all the threads, the MGW short shifter seems like the best built and approved upgraded unit. Looking at the new video from MGW it looks like one well built, precision made unit. However, I did see a youtube guy who runs a shop who ultimately removed it due to the effort required in shifting and affected his ability to heel/toe. Now apparently there is a spring that could be removed that would alleviate that to some extent.
For me, coming from an STi 6-speed, the Tremec is a revelation. But being someone who appreciates precision instruments I”d love to try the MGW out, however, I would have expected precision shifts but not such increased effort. My interest would be HPDE’s, not drag racing if this helps in answering. So looking for anyone who has installed the MGW and their direct experience. I’ve found that different doesn’t always mean better, especially when you spend money and sometimes need to justify the purchase to yourself.
