.057 on average. so 17 gauge for stainless. Flanges are 3/8. Also, below came with limited lifetime warranty and states metal being SUS304. Only reason I am posting any of this is i wanted to share a good deal. If one wants to believe they are crap thats fine. Just wanted to inform the community.

But I see sunlight so not being held quite square. I'm guessing 18 gauge is probably more correct. 😀😋

OK, let’s have an explanation on “autogenous”. I am all ears.
. No filler rod. fused pieces
Just putting this out there for anyone interested.
304/316L Autogenous butt weld no gap no filler full ID purge, pressure monitored with magnehelic.

Here’s what happens when the ID purge isn’t turned on or purge plug falls out. There’s no recovering when this happens, no reweld, no amount of grinding to correct. Cut out and start over, the 300 series material is totally compromised.

I’m very clear in my post what my motive is.
The question was asked by Mr Paul and you stated no filler and fused.
I illustrated a text book example of a full penetration, single pass autogenous orbital weld using 316L .065 wall on some work I performed this morning.

And, much appreciated GregO. Not being a welder I now have a very clear idea of what autogenous welding is and what it looks like when done well. Still not qualified to be an inspector, though. LOL

It's also very common in titanium to do this. I purge when I tack. Cotton gloves keeps dirt and oil off the parts.
