Magnetic Numbers for HPDE

I just ordered a set of magnetic numbers from trackdecals.com

I read across several forums that it is highly recommended to apply some tape on the edges of the magnetic numbers for extra reassurance.

What type of tape should I use to help reinforce the number without the risk of damaging the paint?

Blue painters' tape always works.

This was a few years back but you get the idea. I've since gone back to blue tape entirely like the first-timers do. Doesn't look as clean but it's super quick and easy.

Here is what you're looking for. These numbers have stayed on the car at over 135 mph and I'm sure would be good for more than that. That's just the fastest straight I've been on so far.
