That’s an amazing idea, I may have to steal that from you. I’ve always thought the auto bezel was an afterthought. This is my first auto Mustang in 30 years and it’s hard to look at that area and see such a dismal shifter boot. Thanks!
got mine from white madness too, they did laser engraving and I also converted my boot to manual look, the PRNDS label was useless cause did not even light up and I can see on dash anyway,
I never thought of getting rid of the bezel with the PRNDS; mine does not light up either and it’s a good theft deterrent nowadays!

I did the exact same thing to mine except the color, I did grabber blue to match the car. I even did the manual boot too.

yes same as mine and I also was able to get the red stitching version so it matched my GT/CS red stitching perfectly.

Just wanted to post pictures of my custom shift knob for the auto.
White Madness Garage knocked it out of the park. A big thanks to @monte87 for the referral.
Installation was pretty easy. The instructions lack a few details however.
1. You’ll need a small screwdriver or something to pry the boot off of the OE knob.
2. Ensure you have the new knob oriented correctly when installing. It’s possible to install it backwards. Ask me how I know…
3. The instructions say you can use the supplied screws or the factory screws. The factory screws are too short so don’t bother.

Awesome, man. It looks fabulous. 👍👌 I'm so happy it worked out for you. I love mine as well. White madness rocks!!! I've had 3 balls on 3 diff stangs. That guy is great!!!
Btw, don't worry about slight play in ball down the road, it's common. I have experienced that in 3 diff balls over time. That's normal... 👍
I love the orange accents.

You can swap in a 2018-2019-2020 shifter console that came w light. Easy swap, plug and play. You just have to wire it upto power.

I have a white madness garage shifter for my A10. I like it a lot. It does have a little play in it but I think it’s unavoidable. Like a couple of mm in all directions.
Totally normal, I've had 3 white madness shift balls for 3 diff cars and after time they all have same symptom. I have never had any fail.. White madness stuff is good, made heavy and solid.

originally at first white madness tried to do printed graphics under clear coat method and it got messy and I was glad they finally got into actual laser engraving under clear coat and it came out much better

This conversion greatly improves the look of the shifter to something ford should have done. The factory shifter is too tall and reminds me of a fallic symbol. The GM at the dealer where I bought the car was really impressed, he wanted to know where I got it.

The only downside is the white madness knob is hot to the touch after sitting in the sun for a couple hours.

I didn't do blue loctite, I shouldve... good idea. I've found that, checking to see if the black metal shaft part rotates or moves slightly, I know it's tighten up time. Lol.
As you know the ball itself has slight play and that's normal. I carry a small finger screwdriver in armrest, works like a charm.

The roughly $300 spent on this shifter conversion is a small price to pay for a 60K car to improve the interior look.

Agreed. The money is irrelevant to me. I want the car the way I want it. And the interior is the place you actually interact with the car. So my steering wheel, seats, shifter, should be perfect. Life is too short to not drive what you want to work.

White Madness does a great job. This is the universal short shifter with a ruby ball. Ya gotta cut an inch off of the shaft with a hacksaw, but it's an easy install.

A guy a work has a 24 dark horse with the A10, his shifter looks identical to our factory shifter. I'd put money on it that the white madness shifter would work on an S650 too, you just need a 650 specific manual boot.
