The lumbar support in the driver's seat of my 2018 GT stopped working a few weeks ago. When I would push either direction on the switch, all I'd get was a faint single click from the back of the seat.

I had my car at the dealership yesterday for a parking brake adjustment, and I mentioned this issue.

When I pulled into the dealership, the lumbar support was still not working.

After they completed the parking brake adjustment, the service writer stated that they "couldn't verify the concern" with the lumbar support, and thst it is working.

Sure enough, it moved in and out properly when I tested it with the service writer.

However, it has stopped working again. I checked that both harnesses under the seat are plugged in, but still nothing.

The other power functions of the seat work as they should.

Does anyone have any experience with this problem? At this point, I'd rather just deal with it myself.

I too would be interested in a potential diagnosis and/or repair of the problem.

I suspect that the lumbar support is just caught in the fame of the seat back. I haven't removed and disassembled the seat yet to investigate.

I've just been living with the issue so far.

The OP isn’t clear if the non-functioning aspect is when the button is pressed there is no motor pump noise or if there is, the lumbar just isn’t inflating.

If there isn’t any pump noise then it’s an issue with the pump, the wiring harness from the main body to pump or the wiring connector going to the pump.

If the pump makes noise but the lumbar isn’t inflating - then it’s an issue with the hose going into the lumbar bladder that is preventing it from inflating (or is allowing air to leak out).

Are you sure that there is a "lumbar bladder"? I've read posts in these forums, explaining that the lumbar mechanism actually comprises of a throttle cable attached to the vertical support frame of the seat, so when the lumbar adjustment is set to extend, a motor pulls the throttle cable tight moving it from the rear of the seat towards the front (into your back) (@ripto).

From what I remember, the lumbar support is a hinged frame that is moved by the cable. Yes, it is somewhat uncomfortable given the position in which it's stuck.

I just haven't felt like removing and disassembling the seat to correct it.

I might do it this year once the weather improves.

This is correct, it is just a throttle cable, at least on my '17.

The lumbar support started working again after I adjusted the height/tilt of the seat.

For what it is worth, the power lumbar support in the driver's seat of my 2019 Edge SEL did the same thing where it stopped working and then started working after a height/tilt adjustment.
