I'm a Newbie. I just purchased a '15 ecoboost ragtop a few days ago. When I tried to remove one of the wheels I discovered that the lug wrench doesn't fit the lug nuts. I tried the wrench on all 20 lugs on the car. It is simply too small for the nuts on the car. The lugs appear to be the OEM nuts that came with the car (the 2-piece chrome lugs with the thin covers). The nuts do not appear swollen or distorted. The lug wrench just seems too small.
I tried various sockets and it looks like the lug wrench is 13/16" (or 21mm) and the lug nuts are 22mm. Is this typical? Does everyone discover that the lug wrench doesn't fit the lug nuts when you get a flat on the highway? I'm carrying a breaker bar with a 22mm socket on it in the trunk for now but there has to be a better solution.
Thx.
