I know. I had to convert nm to ft/lb and realized how much of a difference it was.S550 is 150 ft-lb.
Your studs are 12mm from what I remember, S550 has 14 mm.Wow, that’s a lot. My S197 is 100ft/lb.
yes, they’re different. I remember reading the lugs are different when people were swapping wheels when the S550 first came out.Your studs are 12mm from what I remember, S550 has 14 mm.
There is plenty wrong with stock lugs - there is class action lawsuit because of them. Are you not familiar with swelling issue with them ? They're the absolutely first thing any Mustang / F150 owner should get rid of.The slimmer design is catered for aftermarket wheels. Nothing really wrong with the stock lugs. I actually prefer them vs aftermarket.
I prefer my stock lugs on my 2003 Lightning. They are built to last. Unless you're using billet lugs, i'd always go with stock. That's just my opinion. There is plenty wrong with stock lugs - there is class action lawsuit because of them. Are you not familiar with swelling issue with them ? Not familiar with them swelling. Can you give me some more insight about the issue? There is plenty wrong with stock lugs - there is class action lawsuit because of them. The bright outer shell deforms and separates from the core. After enough wheel changes you can't even get a socket on them anymore. The stock ones on the S550 are complete junk. I mean they'll work for a while, but if you actually mount/dismount wheels often, or of you let the shop monkeys hit them with too much ugga dugga from the power tools, they don't last very long. Not familiar with them swelling. Can you give me some more insight about the issue?
Is that the torque your new lug nuts are specified for too? It's not necessarily the same torque as the OEMs. E.g., the Monster lug nuts are specified for a considerably lower torque setting. But boy, tightening twenty lug nuts is exhausting. 204 Nm is really a lot!
By back is hurting now.
It's not the nuts it the studs. 14mm x 1.50 threads require 150/204.Is that the torque your new lug nuts are specified for too? It's not necessarily the same torque as the OEMs. E.g., the Monster lug nuts are specified for a considerably lower torque setting.
Are you sure about that? The answer I got from [email protected] when asking was:It's not the nuts it the studs. 14mm x 1.50 threads require 150/204.

"Thank you for contacting us in regards to your inquiry on the MONSTER LUG NUTS in M14x1.50
We recommend that the Torque spec is 90 - 95 ft lbs.
I understand the Mustang is 120+ but we recommend 90 ??? 95 with the conical seating."
You will find this conversation in a number of threads on this forum. This was discussed in another thread I don’t remember were. The consensus was to use APR assembly lube and torque too 120lb-ft. @Epiphany maybe able to elaborate.
