Hello all,

So my mach 1 finally arrived! Got it shipped from a dealer in Mobile Alabama and it got here today. The thing is im not entirely sure what my dealer did or did not do with the pre delivery since I never saw it in person, are the shipping blocks the only real concern? I asked the dealer to pretty much leave all the plastic and everything else on while it was getting shipped to me.

I was wondering if someone could send me any info I should have on what to look for, I've seen mention of shipping blocks, is it possible to see if they are there without jacking up the car? This thread here suggests that the rear tires may not even come with shipping blocks? Can anyone confirm or deny this so i know what to check for?

Also in the same thread, another user mentions needing an adapter to jack up the car? Is that really necessary? I've never seen a car require a specific jacking adapter like the one linked here https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/damn-shipping-blocks.158944/post-3240367

Also are there any must have accessories that anyone can think of? I am getting PPF installed, and window tint, I will buy a windshield reflector also to help make sure the interior/dash doesnt get as much sun exposure. Ive seen mention of things like Jacking rails? From what i understand that makes it so you can jack one side of the car up using a single jack? To me that seems like it would maybe be less stable, I only tend to jack one side up at a time.

Also does anyone know where i can get an OEM HP Spoiler with Gurney flap and tools to remove the gurney? The car will be my daily driver so the negative impact on MPG the gurney flap has is something im going to forego for now as i average ~1200 a month currently.

Does anyone have a good phone mount that isnt just a suction cup/something sticky you have to put on the dash? Id prefer not to have something with 3m because after years of sitting there ive found it hard to remove before.

Congrats on getting the car.

Shipping blocks will be easy to see; they are bright-colored foam pieces in the suspension. Look in the front wheel wells on each side. If you see something bright and it doesn't look like it belongs, those are shipping blocks. 99% of dealers remove them. 1% forget or are not aware of them.

Im not aware of any mods to jack up a car, but do get familiar with jacking points. Run your hand along the rocker panel on either side. You'll feel one bump (a directional arrow) near each wheel. These arrows highlight just four (two on each side) of the recommended jacking points.

Some install jacking rails; these allow you to jack up all along the rail with more confidence and ease. You'll notice it's kind of easy to catch your jack on the rocker moldings by mistake, if in a hurry and not paying attention.

Accessories. Every time I think I'm done buying something, I find yet another item I need. You'll find your way as you begin using the car. Jacking rails are pretty common. Oil separators as well. Battery tenders if you don't drive the car that often. Race Ramps are less common, but I bought a pair; they do make at least one set with an approach angle low enough not to catch the splitter. Some make their own ramps. Replacement clutch spring if you have a manual transmission.

Tools. A jack low enough to get under the car. Nothing special. There are several. A torque wrench capable of going to 150 lb/ft, for the wheel lugs. Fender skirts/grippers/protectors, to keep the paint nice while preventing dropping things into gaps and spaces.

Detailing supplies of all kinds to keep the car nice.

Several windshield and tint threads you can read through. The fastback/squished design allows for an almost Sun window-like atmosphere inside the car. It can get hot. I see you're driving a lot. Tint might be a great idea.

A full-front PPF might be a good idea for you. I notice you're driving a lot of miles. It depends. If you want to keep her as best possible, PPF in several key areas (full front, rocker panel and wheel lip areas) might be worthwhile.

Gurney flap comes off with a Torx end I believe. I'd have to double check. Mines on. She's not a DD. Read the Owner's supplement on the screws specifically. Whether the flap is on (long screws) or off (short screws), the screws are different. If you take the flap off and place the longer screws back in the tail for safe keeping, you risk cracking the wing.

Troll through the Owner's Manuals and the M1 supplement. Lots of good, M1-specific information in them.

That's a quick summary. Others will join with more advice still. Enjoy the car.

Rear window louvers if you like the look and really want to keep the sun off the back interior. I like the SpeedForm metal ones. Have them on my Mach 1 and had them on my 2015.

Craig's License Plate mount to avoid the holes in bumper,is a must.

On top of previous comments I recommend a windshield sunscreen cover cut to fit, a good wheel and tire detailing setup (see Cosmetic Upkeep Thread), if your going to DD those dudes will get dusty. Enjoy
