This. My tune failed twice until I put on tender.I think they charge an hour of labor to re-flash the ECM So 1 to 2 hundred bucks.
For what it is worth I only flash with a battery tender hooked up, when I started doing this I quit having weird problems.
The time that scared me the worst was when I got the power steering rack code. It would not reset. Power steering did not work. I took the car to Ford and they said I needed a new rack at 3000.
I said I need to think on this......
I thought maybe I can find something in forscan to try. I found I was able to reset the control module for the rack and did just that. The code went away and my power steering was back. Code never has returned, except once more when I flashed without a tender connected.
I also had several communication codes along with the steering code so I attributed this to a low voltage condition during the flash.
Ever since I have been using the tender I have had no more surprises.
Good luck.
I have switched tunes probably around 30 times or more and never had a issue.
Did you send it to ford with the lund tune loaded or did you flash it to stock then send it to ford? This was wrong. Ford had no issues getting it back to stock
Lund tune was in it
I didn’t know Lund did warranties. And I threw the Ford one out as soon as I loaded a tune anyways. Main thing is the car is running and I’m sticking with Lund. One issue doesn’t make me give up on something. Or else I wouldn’t have bought a FordAsk Brandon if there gonna cover you warranty. Cause frankly thats BS. Also now for the really bad news. LUND apparently encrypts the PCM so Ford can't do squat.
K I already said it was user error, not Lunds. Are we gonna leave it at that now or is there gonna be more ?I didn’t know Lund did warranties.
