I think they charge an hour of labor to re-flash the ECM So 1 to 2 hundred bucks.

For what it is worth I only flash with a battery tender hooked up, when I started doing this I quit having weird problems.

The time that scared me the worst was when I got the power steering rack code. It would not reset. Power steering did not work. I took the car to Ford and they said I needed a new rack at 3000.

I said I need to think on this......

I thought maybe I can find something in forscan to try. I found I was able to reset the control module for the rack and did just that. The code went away and my power steering was back. Code never has returned, except once more when I flashed without a tender connected.

I also had several communication codes along with the steering code so I attributed this to a low voltage condition during the flash.

Ever since I have been using the tender I have had no more surprises.

Good luck.
This. My tune failed twice until I put on tender.

I have switched tunes probably around 30 times or more and never had a issue.

I probably had over 100 flashes with no trouble, then bam.

Safe than sorry.

Since I have gone to MPVI2 I can write cal only and it takes 1 min or less to flash, so in the field; drag strip, road course I can flash without a charger without too many worries. It's the 3 to 5 min flash that I get worried about.

This was wrong. Ford had no issues getting it back to stock
Did you send it to ford with the lund tune loaded or did you flash it to stock then send it to ford?

According to this they are still locking the ecm

From lunds site.

If the parameters are all grayed out like below(1), then please refer to the Ticket/E-mail where we probably informed you that you'll need to modify the Vehicle Profile after connection so that your Vehicle Profile matches the operating system being used. The reason this doesn't work properly is due to the scrambling of the strategy for protecting our calibrations.

If you scramble the strategy ID no one can connect unless you have the key.

I'm guessing it took the stock file and had the same trouble with the trans.

Glad it's fixed.

Ask Brandon if there gonna cover you warranty. Cause frankly thats BS. Also now for the really bad news. LUND apparently encrypts the PCM so Ford can't do squat.
I didn’t know Lund did warranties. And I threw the Ford one out as soon as I loaded a tune anyways. Main thing is the car is running and I’m sticking with Lund. One issue doesn’t make me give up on something. Or else I wouldn’t have bought a Ford🤣

K I already said it was user error, not Lunds. Are we gonna leave it at that now or is there gonna be more ?
